malandra4814d ago (Edited 4814d ago )

this is good news to living room lamp makers

NoobJobz4814d ago

Voice activated powerup? What kind of powerups we talking about? Speed boost, turn into a shark?

Dante1124814d ago (Edited 4814d ago )

Lol, easy..EASY! Might work and could be enjoyed by the younger crowd though.

Kon4814d ago

But... How will you swim?

eggbert4814d ago

swing your arms in a windmill fashion.

Bigpappy4814d ago

I am guessing, that instead of hiting "A" for the left hand and "B" for the right hand, you actually move you left and right hands in a swiming motion. That is not that hard to phantom, no wis it? I also think this is all done while standing.

Biggest4814d ago

Because you actually stand while you swim instead of moving your legs in a swimming motion? Or does that type of comment only work when you need it to? That is not that hard to FATHOM, now is it?

Bigpappy4814d ago

Thank you for the correction 'Biggest', but why does Kinect need do do things exactly as you would in real life? Does the Move or the wii do that? Does a controller do that? Does virtual reality do that? I am aware that the intent here is to poke fun at Kinect. But I just figure I would respond as though I took it seriously.

Visari4814d ago

I guess the pre-order bonus will be a bong.

American Olympic Gold Medalist Michael Phelps Is Hooked On Words With Friends

As US swimmer Michael Phelps prepares to add to his record 14 gold medals at the London 2012 Summer Games, the athlete isn’t likely to take much of a break from one of his favorite pastimes – gaming. Phelps, who can become the most-awarded Olympian in history by the end of this Olympics, loves to play all kinds of video games. But one of his favorites is Zynga’s Words With Friends. He’ll have as many as 30 games going on at once. Phelps talks all about his love of games in the videos below.

Stop the presses, i think im starting to care....nevermind.

TheLyonKing4287d ago

he isn't that good anyway, some science show showed that you don't need different types of muscle groups to swim different strokes as long as you are the shape of a swimmer and have the endurance and strength and professional can do any stroke.

Decathletes are the true athletes only one medal and they do 10 different events which test endurance, strength and speed.

Back to the main topic, this dope smoking swimmer can be hooked on what ever he wants doesn't affect me or the gaming industry.

Swiggins4287d ago

Yeah...he isn't that good...he only has more gold medals than any other Olympic Athlete...ever....

If it were as easy as you think it is, every slim person in the world would be a world class swimmer...no...no no no, it takes years of practice and hard work to do even half of the things these guys do...

And who cares if he smoked weed, what harm did it do? Would he have won maybe 10 extra gold medals if he didn't? Not likely....

And yes Decatheletes are impressive....but let's get real here, Michael Phelps swims like a damn fish, he currently holds the water speed record in at least 7 events, that's pretty god damn impressive...

The video doesn't work in my country. Could you find a different one? I'm not reporting it but it would be great to have an alternate source.

chrispen94317d ago

It's Canada. American networks do not allow viewership from foreign countries, eh?

Trebius514317d ago

Lol@Conan

"You look SO stupid ..."

Brash_Attack4317d ago

I don't think Conan could have looked less interested in doing this if he tried.

xAlmostPro4317d ago

I think that's the point, no?

Brash_Attack4317d ago

Possibly. It's just weird seeing him so mellow and unenthusiastic compared to how peppy he is when on air.

Christopher4317d ago (Edited 4317d ago )

I'm thinking there's some Microsoft advertising going on here. It seems so forced and not natural. Otherwise, I don't get why they pushed the Lumia on us at the beginning (yeah, it says AT&T, but then why make a video game bit that he's just not interested in doing?).

File under comedically bad advertising is good advertising?

He knows nothing about video games...and yet he looks like less of a tool playing them than Jimmy Fallon?

Interesting...
