Kotaku: You know, I watch more movies on my PS3 than I play games. So a service like Mubi - which caters specifically to lovers of fine film - is the best thing to happen to my console in a long time.
Mubi launched last week in Europe and Australasia, and since so many of you are not from Europe or Australasia, I've put together this clip walking you through pretty much every aspect of the service (aside from actually watching a movie).
PlayStation.com UK: Did you know your PlayStation 3 can do so much more than just play the hottest games? Find out everything you need to know to kick-start your PS3 experience.
Nothing new here.
Just basic stuff like: Watch movies! Use the Playstation Move! etc etc.
Ofcourse its from the official sony site, so it shouldnt be to advanced, because newcomers must understand it. but still. Not worth submitting to N4G.
(@ the disagrees, im not even trolling here)
The video service of the PS3 is a joke. They failed to mention if you have more than 1 ps3's (like me) and you have video service enabled on one you can't watch movies with the id on the new system. Stupid!
LEt me not even get started on how Netflix destroyed their ap on Ps3 with that new janky ass layout they got. They took all the movies, suggested 75 of them to you and then take your money for it still. What a joke. Why have it one way, a way that works, a way that is good and offers up accessibility and user preference -- For the stupid ass **** they gave us; without warning mind you.
Who cares if is this "old"
It's the Holidays and a lot of new PS3 owners will be curious at what it's capable of.
Nino Kalogeropoulos – Manager, Content Services, ANZ:
At an exclusive event held at the Chauvel Cinema in Sydney’s Paddington, Sony Computer Entertainment Australia celebrated the launch of MUBI in ‘style’ with some very special international guests.
First of all, there was the MUBI founder himself, Efe Çakarel, who commented: “Our mission is to put the excitement and discovery into the home viewing experience.”
Also present at the MUBI launch was Michael Ephraim, Managing Director of Sony Computer Entertainment Australia, who said: “MUBI is a fantastic addition to the PlayStation 3 on demand entertainment experience that stretches beyond great games and adds an exciting new layer to PlayStation Network’s film offering.”
SMH:
Sony Computer Entertainment Australia has had a big week, slashing the price of the struggling PSPgo, dropping the price of the successful PlayTV add-on for PlayStation 3, and launching the MUBI movies-on-demand service.
Prompted by all the announcements, Screen Play thought a catch with outspoken managing director Michael Ephraim was well overdue.
The full transcript of the interview can be found below, in which he talks about topics like the challenges of marketing the PlayStation 3, the likelihood of releasing Gran Turismo 5 before Christmas, the growth of movies-on-demand, the strength of the Australian dollar, the battle between PlayStation Move and Kinect, lessons learned from the PSPgo, and his tip for the number one game this Christmas.
"You know, I watch more movies on my PS3 than I play games"
har har har
Mubi, vidzone, the up and coming LOVEFiLM...all great services. But my broadband? It isn't a fan. BUFFER BUFFER BUFFER renders all these services useless to me. Damn.
...for NZ PS3 owners however, at $24 p/m plus the cost of broadband its just not a great deal.
