Stop playing fallout in till the patch.

MrAwesome4925d ago

A patch this early? That's either very good or very bad.

LarsoVanguard4925d ago

Or, you could perceive it as being like most every other game of this generation, where bugs are found out during the initial day 1 launch, and then taken care of

Or, we could just deal with bugs forever? But wait, your right... Developers should never take care of the problems with their game for the early adopters....

Right?

Christopher4925d ago

It means they knew about the issues when the game went gold and have been working on a patch for it since then. No other way they'd be magically fixing the big memory issues they have in the game.

Nihilism4925d ago

You mean a patch this late?

If it only takes them a few days...couldn't they have done it before launch....you know, so people that bought the game don't have to fix what the developers broke?

akiraburn4925d ago (Edited 4925d ago )

I've gotta say, that while the game is pretty fun, I'm also pretty surprised by the sheer amount of issues that I've had already. I also was expecting a decent change in overall gameplay mechanics, and while it was altered, I don't really think it was a significant change. I'm glad for the option of Hardcore mode, but other than that, you can pretty much play the game the same exact way you would play FO3.

Beyond the random crashes, I've had a pretty decent number of other issues. I've been having problems entering VATS for several seconds after finishing reloading, or sometimes randomly I can't loot a corpse until I walk a few feet away and then come back or have to open the Pip-boy and then try looting again. I've had weird issues, where randomly sometimes when opening the Pip-boy, it opens above or below the camera, so I can't see the options. There have also been strange graphical problems with my gun readjusting itself when in close quarters, where it will shift up higher or down lower.

Although these problems are relatively minor issues, I really hope this fixes some of the painfully bad problems, such as the ED-E flying robot quest, which I found out the hard way can not be completed if you talk to the old woman in the junkyard before getting ED-E fixed and following you. I also want them to fix quests such as "Come Fly With Me", where in the basement of the building, you get two optional quests added, which BOTH should be able to be completed, but the moment you complete even part of one of them, the other person becomes hostile towards you for no reason.

Edit: I forgot one other issue that really gets to me, and that is the voices. I'm sorry to say that between this and a few other games that have recently been released (namely Dead Rising 2), they have had some of the worst voice acting I've heard in a long time, as well as strange audio problems. You can plainly hear the voice actor for No-Bark (crazy looking guy in Novac) completely change voices to someone else that had to fill in his lines, they used a very poor quality mic to record it, and the audio looses all dynamic and time-based audio processing effects when asking him certain questions. Beyond that, they really needed more voice actors overall, as well as not using the development crew for voices, because it really loses it's immersion factor (at least for myself). I have to say that Fallout 3 had better quality voice acting, and less audio issues so far.

"Stop playing fallout in till the patch"

Even better idea; don't buy it at all (At least not new).
Games that launch like this don't deserve any support.
Patch or not; this is not okay.

I need this ASAP. ED-E ran off somewhere while we were fighting ghoul reavers and glowing ones. I killed all the enemies but he hasnt come back to me. I fast traveled to Primm and everywhere else to see if he'll teleport next to me but nothing. ED wasnt on wait command. I just lost a companion and a quest.

But i still have the perk from it.

As long as I am not missing out on items or key characters or events appearing/activating, I can handle the simple pops here and there. After they patch it up though, that'll be sweeter. Maybe get the AA up on the PS3.

Hudahudahuda4925d ago

You can't change AA with a simple patch.

Hellsvacancy4925d ago (Edited 4925d ago )

Thats cool, i wont b buyin it now till next week anyway, i owe my pot dealer too much money, gotta pay the fat mofo 2morrow, thats not to bad though, sounds like the patch will b out by the time i get paid next Wednesday, to b honest (as i am) i didnt really hav many problems with Fallout 3, had a couple of minor glitchs but nothin too bad, so i would buy F:NV its just i wont hav anythin to smoke whilst playin it (always helps)

TheDopeFiend4925d ago

Grow your own it's far cheaper, Fallout New Vegas isn't my cup of Tea but if the same was to happen to me but with GT5 instead i think i'd break down in tears and would seriously have to reevaluate my life style

LarsoVanguard4925d ago

Growing your own is not cheaper by any means. Considering the fact that you have a very limited window, you won't have what you need to smoke for the entire year. Any true smoker knows this. Buying is necessary.

TheDopeFiend4925d ago (Edited 4925d ago )

"true smoker" sorry kid, a true smoker would never buy the crap that's available on the streets, that's why i moved to growing my own i won't ever settle for second best in that department again

Convas4925d ago (Edited 4925d ago )

Holy crap, there's a ring of drug users on N4G. LOL. Or would you guys prefer Natural Substance Connoisseurs?

dalibor4925d ago

Been a while since I smoked weed but black widow is pretty darn good. They got coffee shops out in Amsterdam where there is a menu on different ganja that you can buy. Not bad of a selection I must say. You all should go there sometime, it's a haven for pot smokers.

MariaHelFutura4925d ago

A year?!?!?!?.....Where are you getting this info?

I want to see a re-review with this patch, I know it wont stop all the bugs though

Trizard4925d ago

The first days of release were like an closed beta (entrance for $60) to even out bugs and glitches. IMO, what ever floats your boat and works is okay with me. I still am in fucking love with the game.

Fallout Anthology Edition Looks Pretty S.P.E.C.I.A.L.

The Fallout Anthology Edition is coming to PC very soon, and is packaged with some very S.P.E.C.I.A.L. bonuses.

-Foxtrot3d ago

It’s an awful downgrade to the last one they did

They included physical disc back then
