Ok, everyone knows that Super Mario Galaxy 2 was a triumph, losing none of its predecessor's inventiveness whilst adding a new twist in the form of co-op, but if we’re entirely truthful, we have to admit to being a little bit underwhelmed. Co-op should genuinely enrich a game, either by allowing you to share the spectacle or by adding an extra dimension to the gameplay or game mechanics. With that in mind, we at Megabits have wracked our brains and assembled our list of the ten best co-op games, the ones that, unlike SMG2, didn’t fall swiftly by the wayside.
Times are changing, and these games would have never been made in today's climate.
Every single time someone uses this phrase whether it's music, movies, books, comics, video games, etc it's always the same claim.
The ubiquitous "they" won't allow it to be made. And every decade these claims are made the claimant completely ignores all the "offensive" material that is published when the claim is made.
In ten years, you can write a new article about how you can't make games like Helldivers 2, Resident Evil VIII, Mortal Kombat I, Dragon's Dogma 2, Alan Wake 2 etc etc etc any more.
Dead Island: "The early PC version of the zombie game swapped the playable character Purna’s Gender Wars skill with a prototype name, which shouldn’t be mentioned directly. The skill name made fun of both Purna as a character and feminists."
"Feminist Whore" lmao
ill add one more to the list.
drakengard 1.
its ridiculous tho, especially since they'd still be able to find their place in alot of places in the world. except america of course ha. and maybe Australia.
ppl are so sensitive these days. ha. but it is what it is.
They're not offensive.
And we need another Fat Princess. Fantastic little game!
Some people just have no sense of humour if this sort of thing offends them. They need to lighten up and stop taking themselves so seriously.
Resident Evil 5 launched 15 years ago today - and it continues to stand as a stepping stone from the good to the bad.
One of my favourites because of the co-op. Then Resi 6 arrived and the series nosedived further.
I enjoyed the game co-oping with a friend I know the game in solo the AI can be an idiot but RE5 is way better then RE6. I played RE6 with a friend if it wasn't cheap when I got I would have avoided RE6.
5 was excellent, still play Mercs with my brother.
I would love a fully remastered RE:5, with some added, reworked content. The DLC for 5 was also excellent.
6 was awful.
I never understood why the game was misunderstood. It was a fantastic game at launch and is still fun today to play. It’s as action packed as Resident Evil 4 was, yet that’s regarded a masterpiece 🤷♂️
it was "misunderstood" because they introduced co-op into the franchise at a time when people loved to have fake rage about co-op. like, you could play the game as a solo experience, but people chose to have their bandwagon rage because it was cool at the time lol
He wants to launch all his projects initially through close beta.
What an uncalled for attack at SMG2!
Gears of War 2 was a great game, but IMO Borderlands had the better co-op experience and was pretty much built for co-op gameplay. Good list none the less, I would scrap Lost Planet 2 though.
EDIT: That's kinda odd you mention that because my GF isn't a gamer but she played Borderlands with me, and even my cousins wife hates video games but she loved playing Borderlands lol. I almost past on this game as well, but after watching a few video reviews I said screw it and pre-ordered it. I've spent countless amount of hours on Borderlands and I don't regret it at all, and the Secret Armory of General Knoxx is the best so I think you will enjoy that one.
gears of war? uncharted? rainbow six vegas 1? all better than lost planet
Gears definately
has to be up there
