Lord of the Rings: Aragorn's Quest - ZTGD Preview

Cat writes, "The Lord of the Rings is serious business, so it's about time it took itself a little less seriously - we do enough of that. That the game looks more like a Saturday morning cartoon than anything Peter Jackson made is a small shock to the system, but not unwelcome, and it's appropriate that these rose colored glasses are worn by Sam Gamgee. The game follows Aragorn through the three books in flashbacks narrated by Sam, and is even voiced by Sean Astin of the Jackson films. The game is geared towards a young audience, and so the narration is constructed like Sam is telling his kids the story."

I commented on this article because I have too much time on my hands and am contemplating getting on the treadmill in my room (But I probably won't).

"I have too much time on my hands"

I really envy you.

There's too much something on MY hands but as there could be kids reading I won't go into detail about it. As for the game, I'm interested to see what the visual, if any, difference will be from Wii to PS3/Move. Surely, there HAS to be some kind of extra pretty for the HD console owners, no?

If not I fail to see much point in chasing the move market by EA over this one. Also, having been bitten very hard on a tender part of my anatomy more than once by games from Tolkein's universe I'm reluctant to hand over anything til a game like this actually manages a Metacritic of over 50! The last one was so bad that I wanted to sure Lovefilm for renting it to me without a health warning-seriously, how dull was that crap? Didn't they understand that wrapping up DW in different skins still made it a DW game that you need special powers to play in this day and age?

@mastiffchild - yeah, they didn't even have the PS3/Move version on show, and the Wii version looked...like the Wii version. With the PS3 as the oddball on the platform list, my skepticism is heightened.

Sidewinder-5045d ago

Much similarities to Fable 2, no?

Cat5045d ago

Definitely with the sparkly breadcrumb trail. The prostitutes and STDs...not so much ;)

El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron - Coming Back for a New Generation

Originally launched in 2011, El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron is coming to Nintendo Switch, so It's time to look back at the original.

Still have my ps3 copies. Bought it at launch and another one when I found it cheap and in perfect condition about 10 years ago. I wouldn’t buy it on Switch but if they made a PS5 version I would. I still have one of my PS3 Fats hooked up so good to go either way.

Id play it again on the switch. I wished my 360 version was bc but this is still a good way to play.

Fallout 3's Reveal Led To Death Threats And Bethesda's First Security Guard

The artist behind Fallout 4’s Deathclaw reveals just how bad things got back when Bethesda took over the series

anast14h ago

People are stupid I get it. No one should feel unsafe,

But I think they need to talk about why they cut so many corners during the development process and why none of their games ever look current. And why they think all of this is okay while they charge full price.

LucasRuinedChildhood13h ago

As much as Bethesda deserve criticism, that's not really relevant to the reveal of Fallout 3 in 2007.

VenomUK10h ago

The default angle Kotaku always go for is to highlight the worst in gaming.

I would’ve focused on the creative.
