I'm so lost. Was THAT it for Kinect at E3? Where are all the hardcore games?? And I'm not trying to troll, I'm genuinely confused as to what happened. Correct me if I'm wrong but MS revealed Kinect with more casual games, and made no mention of any of the actual retail titles or projects I assumed we would see? Like games from Bethesda? Rare, etc?

Uh, I guess so. They didn't reveal anything else other than what's publicly known on N4G. They're supposed to be having something on Tuesday as well, but I don't know if they'll show more games than they did here.

Though it would make sense if they did - this event was clearly targetted towards the parents, the tweens, non-gamers and what-not. If they had a separate conference exclusively for showing hardcore games, then they could show off all the so-called rumoured games from Sega and Capcom. We'll have to wait till Tuesday it seems.

...But I thought that Tuesday is just going to be the public airing of this conference (that just passed) on MTV and Nickelodeon, which is why the conference was a "no camera" event for bloggers and attendees. So nothing new on Tuesday.

they already said Gears and Reach won't be supporting it. From the announced games so far, only Fable 3 will be using it and not to the fullest extent. I think people are taking it the wrong way. Never Microsoft once said they are going to catering for core gamers with Natal/kinect. The sole purpose in my opinion of Natal is to cater Casual market of Wii. We will see some form in hardcore games but it will be after thought. Microsoft just doesn't have the first party studios to push towards inventing new genre/software. I will happily eat crow if tomorrow Sony or Microsoft blow me away with there launch lineup for motion controls.

I think was always meant to be more for the "Casuals", Tomorrows press conf. is for the core audience and that is where they need to show more on star wars and a host of hardcore games for Kinect.

Besides...Ms said its sooooo many dev working on Na..Kinect that they cant get into the launch window so they must have more to show, that wasnt really in MS fashion no surprises no......nothing really for us Hardcore gamers

Yeah. As Greenberg said in the Joystiq interview, this was just to introduce Kinect to the press (or whatever the hell that mess was SUPPOSED to be). It was to show off Kinect in SOME way (still unsure what they wanted to accomplish, because it just left all of us confused and wondering what in the hell did we just SEE). That is more or less what we're gonna see out of the televised special on Tuesday.

Tomorrow (Monday) is going to include the meat of the entire thing: the usual press conference where we'll see Greenberg, Mattrick (you know, the guy that has that "I'm a dick and proud of it" smile to him. Can't STAND him, though I can handle anyone else on the MS PR team), and etc. talk about what games they have, what new Live features they have, reveal what they stole from Sony THIS time (sorry, couldn't resist), and reveal other things that you probably don't care about. There's no other NEW MS conference that is scheduled.

Thing is, that one WILL be televised on Spike TV (not sure HOW they were able to do THAT. G4 must've pissed them off somehow). That's the best chance to actually show the masses (the public) Kinect. To do that, you KNOW they're gonna use 3/4ths of their show to shove that thing down our throats. There'll be some of Halo, Gears, and Fable, but I don't think we're going to see much else in terms of core, non-Kinect games being shown unless that whole Versus to 360 thing comes to fruition (we can go on all DAY about THAT one). Seeing as how MS is very, VERY committed to this thing, you have to think that they will showcase the thing like nothing else.

I do think they have to be careful, though. Remember last year and how the whole thing with the avatar's shoe thing revealed the motion tracking to be rather buggy. If they have another showing like that, the thing will be dead in the water before it even has a chance to swim.

Darkpower, Monday is supposed to be just Xbox 360 though... I don't think it's going to mention Kinect at all. In fact, Monday I believe is all about us "hardcore" gamers. And Tuesday is the recording of what was shown Sunday... Which means MS really isn't using Natal towards us hardcore gamers the least bit. And this makes me feel confused. Will we or will we not see games proper games? And I'm not talking about Burnout using it because I can do that already with a controller.

Ah, whatever. I'm just disappointed with what I'm hearing and sort of shocked because I was expecting more. For some reason I feel like I'm the only one. Anyways, guess I'll just have to look forward to the Xbox conference.

I think it's airing on Tuesday, but for whatever reason I can't seem to figure out Microsoft's E3 schedule at all. I wish they would have kept it a bit more traditional.

The event may have been awesome in the sense that it was well put together and Cirque du Soleil did a great job, but most of the negativity is either coming from disappointment in the product or people acting like they are above this.

I would likely make similar jokes about the event if I were there, but that doesn't change the fact that I would have probably enjoyed being there.

Cliffy B and a ton of people tweeted that it was awesome, so I am looking forward to seeing what it has to offer.

The show itself had everyone on the internet googling Microsoft and checking twitter, the show was the most tweeting thing over the last hour +. If anything, it generates more hype. It's not even the thing I'm most interested in. It's the games, slim 360, price drop, bundles I'm interested in.

The jumping on the raft game didn't look that fun and there's very noticeable lag between the person jumping and the character jumping in game... I hope they change this at the launch.

I'd like to see a Baseball batting game where you can swing a bat, I could see that being much more fun then doing it with a wii-mote as long as the lag isn't so noticeable, this also goes with golf.

If thats seriously all M$ showed was just all the same casual crap we saw last year, except for that "River Rush", this is doomed for failure, and honestly, I'm kinda pissed off that both M$ and Sony are heading this way with the casual motion crap and cameras, etc. Wasted time, wasted resources, wasted R&D. I mean seriously, PlayStation and Xbox have all been about hardcore gamers and playing ridiculous/amazing games. Thats why nintendo is here, for the casual gamers, and family household gamers, which I'm fine with.

I'm just really ticked off they are going this way with Move, which is a 99.9% rip-off of the WiiMote, and the Kinect, just a retarded/useless product in my eyes. Even Sony with their 3D BS. I mean yes, in about 3-4 years when 3D is mainstream and 3D technology advances and becomes cheaper, I'm all for it, but right now, is it really worth it to be putting out all of your resources behind 3D and pushing devs to develop 3D games for the 5,000 people in the world who have a 3D TV right now.

Am I the only one who wants real games shown? All I can hope for is that M$ and Sony have saved a ton of stuff for actual games to be shown and pirely games. NO MOTION SENSING BUY A 3D TV SH!T.

Dude, calm down. I realize you don't like the motion sensing thing but this is about business. Here's an example my school (CU Boulder) just peaced out of the Big XII for the Pac 10 for a chance at more money for the school. They gave up 60 years of rivalries and history for money. It's all about business, they want a slice of Nintendo's pie. It's an add-on peripheral, you aren't stuck with it like Nintendo.

Ya I agree with how you feel. I understand, instead of developing useless movement games, 3D, HD, etc...just give us good ol' games. They're trying to be innovative and it only hurts the games quality. I for one like seeing new tech and I'll play with it for 5 minutes and than never touch it again. Thats true, but you get my point. I just don't like the way things are going with gaming now-a-days. Whatever happend to the good old days of gaming? Whatever happend to the actual Video Games of Gaming?

And What I mean by that is a game I can play with a controller and physical buttons, without having to worry about "3D this" and "Oh, guess I have to buy a camera add-on now". But like you said, business is business. And its true, if one company sees another company succeed at something they haven't invested in, it makes sense for them to invest in it as well and take marketshare. I just think its just too much and they shoulda spent all that time and money and R&D "NOT" folding first-party studios and letting them go independant, and creating new IPs and visually inspiring games. Sony is on the bubble. They obviously want to take some money form the Wii (which they won;t be able to) but I've seen a lot of stuff form them so far, that PS3 is lookin good so far. M$ and Xbox 360, I won't decide until tomorrow (but it ain't lookin good).
