Gears of War 3 will be available next year Epic Games has announced, and we expect to hear and see much more at E3. It’s the second biggest franchise on the Xbox 360 and a huge money maker for both Microsoft and Epic Games.
Thing is, Epic Games is an independent studio that must continue to make money to survive and now that the PS3 install base is just about the same size with that of Xbox 360, it’s becoming more and more enticing to make all their games multiplatform. Many still cling on to a tiny bit of hope to see Gears of War 3 on PS3, but Epic Games has constantly stabbed that rumor to death.
But in the future, according to Wedbush Morgan Securities analyst, Michael Pachter, things might be different, even for the Gears of War franchise.
For those who don't have time for massive open worlds or role-playing games with epic tales, these 15 games are worth checking out.
Gears of War 3 and Judgement servers have returned to their "updated" condition, adding several features, such as increased XP and more.
I currently play Gears 3 often, especially after the 60 FPS Boost. Gears of War is my favorite gaming franchise, and the Locusts are the coolest faction in history. Gears Judgment will always be a disgrace for not having the Locust in VS multiplayer.
GoW 3 and Judgement were the last installments before the series went woke and soulless. I'm level 50 in GoW 3 and LOVE it's multiplayer to death. It's just so crispy.
The Xbox 360 is one of the most successful consoles ever made, and the best games in its library are a huge part of why.
That is the most "normie" list that I ever saw. This does make some sense given the console in question, but still.
Might as well list it as the One's top twenty as well since all it had for games was backward compatibility.
You know, I am wondering why they didn't annouce this at MS E3...maybe...dare I say it...it'll go multiplatform?
ill duck
either way i hope this isnt true cause even a broken clock...... anyway MS needs more exclusives not less. Sony MAY have been this aggressive with their 1st/2nd party studios because of MS. If MS have too few REAL exclusives to count, sony MAY slow up......i doubt it though. To be honest sony seemed like using this model was always their plan no matter what the competition done. They did say few years ago that 3rd party exclusives were dying....lucky guess by them i suppose /s
Patcher is an idiot...
I realize companies need to do things to be more competitive but Microsoft would be better off putting that money into their own studios. Let the IP go multiplatform. In fact all 3rd party IP's should be (like the recent article on The Agent I commented on). There really is no need to make backroom deals, which will limit your userbase, because you want to sell consoles. Let the consumer decide which platform they want to play it on, don't force them to decide.
Paying for Exclusives or timed exclusives has worked well for MS. Especially with downloadable games. Right now I prefer the PS3 technically. But, by the time Zombie Apocalypse got to PSN, I was done. I'm trying to hold out (from going back to my XBox)for Magic The Gathering: DOP. But Expansion 2 is already out on Xbox and still not firm date for PSN. By the time Braid got to PSN it was old news.
Sony should pay to get some of these, especially for PSN. It's a good strategy. With inferior hardware MS will survive to the next generation, and may be leading into it, based soley on games and the Live! infrastructure which PSN may never be able to compete with.
