I had bought a 360 on 11/22/05, but the (then) lack of a LCD TV, the 360 was sold later the same day. Not to mention it froze on me several times & I foresaw all kinds of trouble down the line. I run a shipping department and I see these types of trucks every single day. For a 9 year old to take the wheel and use the CB at the same time is pretty amazing.

With that much weight being towed behind the tractor, that kid could have easily "jacknifed" that trailer and either killed him, his father, and anyone else on the road around him.

What the F*** is wrong with the world, when people are raising kids that expect a reward for everything?

My dad is a truck driver, if he passed out at the wheel, and I had to step in and take control of the vehicle to prevent destruction and mayhem, my reward would be that my father is still alive, I had the sense of self to react appropriatly in a dangerous situation, and that no one else was injured, or inconvenienced by destruction of property.

Then I would step away, and carry on with my life.

And this is not thanks to a more mature mind and heart than this young child, it is thanks to my father raising me to be a resposible and selfless person.

If my (hypothetical) kid saved my life, maybe I would buy him a PS3 to thank him, but if he went around bragging up his 'heroic actions' to the media, and then nagging me for a reward, I'd probably ground him.

I'd teach him humility, to be humble, and to realise that no one person is more important than any other, and therefore, he has no right to expect special treatment. But this idea is lost on most people, so most people will just give a dirty look, hit disagree, and tell me where I can stick my opinion.
