Brandon Thompson writes: "In the world of games the male lead has a lot of responsibility on his shoulders. Among the things a hero has to accomplish is being a tough guy or a bad-ass in this case. While plenty have accomplished this throughout the history of gaming, few have made major impacts in gaming in the last ten years. What does it take to be a bad-ass you ask? Well first of all you have to be able to hold your own in a fight despite all the odds being stacked against you. There's no denying that the guys on our list meet that criteria. Besides being able to handle themselves, a real hero (or anti-hero) has to be able to almost win a fight without ever taking a swing. That is to say his appearance alone should be able to strike fear into the hearts of his enemies."
VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "Upon finally finishing Devil May Cry 5 recently - after it spent several years on my “I’ll play that soon” list - I considered giving it a fittingly-named Late Look article. However, considering that this was indeed the final piece I was missing in the DMC puzzle, I decided to instead take this opportunity to take a look back at the entirety of this genre-defining series and rank the entries. What also made this a particularly tempting notion was that while most high-profile series have developed fairly evenly over time, with a few bumps on the road, the history of Devil May Cry has, at least in my eyes, been an absolute roller coaster, with everything from total disasters to action game gold."
3,1,4,5 to me, never played 2. 5 gameplay is amazing but level design was really disappointing to me, just a bunch of plain arenas, the story felt like a worse written rehash of the 3rd and the charater models looked weird ( specially the ladies ). Another problem with 5 was that there was not enough content for 3 charaters so I could never really familiarize with any of them
2.
Dmc.
4.
5.
1.
3.
God DMC2 was an awful game.
And in case this isn't obvious it goes worst to best
Order changes depending on your focus. I tend to focus on gameplay/fun factor, so...
5, 3, 1, 4, 2.
I really didn't like 4 but commend Dante's weapon diversity. The retreading of old ground was pretty unacceptable to me.
But even then... Still more enjoyable than 2 for me
Huzaifah from eXputer: "Devil May Cry 5, the latest iteration in the iconic DMC franchise by Capcom, still holds its own as a fantastic hack-and-slash in 2024."
How do composers make the iconic music tracks from games that we love? And just what makes them so memorable?
A top 5 without teh boobs? I'll approve it I guess.
Nice to see that you atleast mentioned Travis Touchdown. Number 1 Bad-ass for me :D
...also evil Cole from inFamous says hi!
Kazuma is like a Japenese Tony Montana. Dude has a full back tattoo, eats the toughest gangsters for breakfast, and WILL F-you up. Way more bad ass then Ninja Gaiden, Master Chief, or Solid Snake.
Kratos, Cole, Kazuma FTW!!
Dante of DMC, the cosplay is of the emo kid nero, not Danta lol
Master Chief or Marcus are definitly not bad arse. MC is generic space marine which downgrades from Warhammer 40k, while Marcus...meh all the cast of GeOW is horrible
For snake they forgot something "walk thru mircowaves"
