Fallout: New Vegas info from PC Gamer

Info from the new issue of PC Gamer (already sent to subscribers) about the upcoming Fallout: New Vegas.

I didn't say achievements. I said the Platinum. They are fun to brag with amongst friends. Need...? of course not. But still an awesome thing to have.

Sad how gamers this generation need to chase carrots in order to play a game. Play the game for the love of the game, not a silly number next to your name.

They should make the original (Fallout3) actually playable.

My girlfriend has clocked it and two of the expansions but the crashes and freezes are so frequent that I think she will lose patience soon.

It averages one crash every 40 or so minutes.

I believe ammo had weight in Fallout 3 as well. Very miniscule, but I think it did.

No it doesn't. No ammo on Fallout3 has weight.

I love Fallout 3 and New Vegas seems a lot of fun too :)

You can play as a Pip-Boy or some Pip-Boys out there are alive! D:

When you load the game, maybe it'll read your Fallout 3 file and the character you get it from is ...wait for it...."YOU"

I heard that this game has an intro like DA:O where you have a bit of a back story before you get your Pip-Boy and venture out into the western wasteland.

I'm still working on FO3, just picked up the GOTY edition and am loving it. Let's see if Harold is still alive in Vegas =)

I hope this ties to FO3....area 51, brotherhood of steele connections, etc.....this is an amazing setting...the entire series is truly epic and immersive

fallout 3 was 1 of my fav games in the last few year but never played the original fallout games! so excited to see what the original developers can do with a current gen fallout :D

Wow, I pretty much asked for that hardcore mode here a month or two ago. I don't normally like to play games on crushing difficulty as I prefer the experience to the challenge but that's gonna be great and add tons to the experience. I just hope it doesn't mean every enemy is also near impossible to kill.

Really looking forward to this. Not to sound like a graphics whore, but I'm also hoping that there is some level of improvement in the visuals over Fallout 3. I just don't like the idea that the developer can spend an extra two years of development time on a sequel and give you a product that looks about the same as its predecessor.

Other than that, I know this game will be loads of fun. Can't wait to buy GOTY edition of Fallout 3 for my PS3. My 360 version is at a friend's house.

This sounds more like Fallout 2 and that is beyond good news. I just hope the final game is indeed a true Fallout game like that and not a disappointment like Fallout 3 (Specially compared to F1 and 2).

I thought Fallout 3 was fun and engrossing, but I didn't feel it lived up to the standard set by the first couple. This is especially true when I think about how good the first game was for its time. Definitely a revolutionary RPG in its own right.

Yeah. On its own Fallout 3 was decent but compared to what original Fallout did back then... revolutionary indeed. Hopefully Vegas will be closer.

Hardcore mode should be pretty interesting. I'm looking forward to trying that out.
