10 Facts I've Learned About Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer

Yeah, it was funny. I was expecting it to be more serious, but it's all true.

As for killstreaks, nearly all of them are stopped if you are smart enough to take them down.

I run into a lot of team players who take care of killstreaks and air support. If one thing IW did right, it was making sure Killstreaks could be countered/destroyed.

Oh, and riot shield is also one of those things that works well with teamwork. The riot shielder is always the distraction, they are meant to waste important time in games like S&D.

To be fair the game has its fair of skill and tactics, but right now there is too much crap with glitches, unbalanced weapons, cheap perks and attachments with no counters, etc.

The killstreak thing is SOOOO true.

He admits his thing about sniping is silly, but CoD sniping is silly, maps are too small.

I don't agree with the prestige thing, as I don't see the point of prestige in this game. But, I can see his reasoning.

I personally think the EMP and AC130/Chopper should be switched. EMP at killstreak 15? It's so useless. The AC130/Chopper is way overpowered even if the targets are using cold-blooded.

1. It's a reskinning of a two year old game. Just new guns and maps and some other added features.

2. It's still the most noob game available. The aiming, shooting and movement are overly simple, while this is good for noobs, it leaves hardcore players like me a bit dissappointed. It's probably why the game is so popular, it's noob friendly.

but it's the best online experience I've ever played,it's so fun fast,fluid 60 fps action and downright EXPLOSIVE, never been this hooked on multiplayer before like it, the fun is like to the MAAAAX, it almost make every other game look boring\lazy, I think this is the first time I felt this addictive to a thing in years

and spec ops is amazing on veteran,requires skill, campaign is EPIC I'll beat it on veteran soon,EPIC soundtrack(hans zimmer soundtrack is explosive), control\aiming is almost perfect

the only thing you haters love to do is to list all of its cons+hate and claim that its crap, I almost feel that Im playing a different game

Well, honestly after having reached my first Prestige rank, I think I'll keep at lvl 70. The Prestige only gives you another badge, nothing else. Everything else restarts.

So in the first Modern Warfare, it was Ok, you didn't have troubles to redo everything again because maps and weapons available were fairly balanced, but in Modern Warfare 2, I noticed how pathetic I was until lvl 20-30, when I have the perks and the weapons I like to use. So restarting everything and struggling for a bunch of time just for a badge, no thanks.

I'd rather stay at lvl 70 and get as much distinctions (I don't know how it's called in English, those avatars and signatures you win for this or that to customize your MW player card) and being able to use every weapons I want. So if not wanting to be handicapped and virtually raped for several hours makes me a douche, then I'm a proud douche.

But otherwise I agree with most points of the article.

some of us also don't want to spend all of our free time playing this game so Prestige rank is not a logical option for someone who has spent alot of time playing to unlock everything.

the shield would be more fun if you did not have to hit someone twice to kill.i have been kill alot because i need two hits.

i use 203's and rpg's with danger close and im not ashamed of it. when you got a guy running at you with some lag a 203 evens things out real quick.

yeh but you can still earn new emblems and titles through not prestiging its his choice but yeh prestiging is pointless you only get a shiny new badge next to your name then its another 3 or 4 days bashing it out to get another badge

The problem with the shield isn't really the fact that it takes 2 whacks to kill. It's the fact that the enemy can knife around your shield so easily between those hits.

This is why I bring a handgun for its quick draw. Getting too close is generally death for you.

what i find funny is people laugh at you for being a high prestige ; oh look at him, he must have no life....

The only mechanics that I dont like in multiplayer are the grenade launchers and Akimbo. Evrything else is amazingly awesome.

I agree with some of his statements, others just show he sucks, but there are a few that really piss me off and I think should be added.

completely agree on the weed call signs. i used to smoke a lot back in the day, but something me and friends always hated was when people bragged about smoking it. it usually means you're new to the stuff and don't know what the hell you're talking about and can potentially get you or your friends in trouble by association.

the guy who wrote the article isn't probably a great gamer and he couldn't really hide his jealousy. i had the nuke in 3 consecutive sessions and i'm a runner (i hate campers totally and hunt them down with an extra grin on my face :D )... also i stayed on the second 70lvl prestige, cause i want to have the extra challenges, that need plenty of time to finish.

I actually played this at a friends house (PC gamer I refuse to buy 360 ports) to confirm what I already suspected.

This is what happens when you don't have dedicated servers or Admins

The worse feature is that this game was even made. Could have been great but it was a rush job. More dollars were spent on advertisement and Hype than content. A very dumb down game.

Not to mention the guy writing this article is a CLOWN. Play something beside Halo and MW2. If you have never played the original Call of Duty then you know nothing about FPS and shouldn't be writing articles. Your whole life is NOOBISH

Great article.Truth right down to the t.Alot of issues with the game and the gammers in multiplayer.But big thing is the top 50.All of them have put that hack in obvisouly especially when you see there killstreaks at 115,110 or a score thats 25,989,345 in 20 days. Are you serious.lol.I can be honest and say that im always in the top 3 in every game and theres no way anyone can have a score or killstreak like that.I have even played with some guys in the top 15 and they where horrible in every game I played with them.Even 5 of the top 10 werent register on the ps3 so it means they where banned or hacking the system as usual.I must admit I dont play the game as much as everyone else due to all the douschbags online now a days.They just took the fun out of it,especailly when you are better then them but there cheating ways always get the better of you.Its to bad that gamming has become such hack or glitch in every game to ruin it for those who really enjoy multiplaying.

I've put in years on the CoD franchise as a whole and more than 170 hours on Modern Warfare 2 and i do not dispute anything in the list.

Keep your boosters, your Akimbo and your glitch infections. Time to move on. Bring on Battlefield BC2

heres a list of things i learned

1: It's the same f@cking thing as Call of Duty 4, only this time with more rewards for camping

2: Since it hasn't been beta tested, glitches and glitchers have overtaken the game and its leaderboards.

3: The game plays itself for you

4: The maps are all lame after the 10th time you play each of them

5: (For me) the game got old and repetitive after 4 weeks

6: Graphics are $hit, and f@ck you if you think otherwise

7: (for pc owners) no dedicated servers

8: Sprint shoot sprint shoot sprint shoot sprint shoot die.....sprint shoot sprint shoot (etc.)

9: Did I mention the campers?

10: The game is known as Modern Warfare, but the highest level weapons in each category (RPG, Ak-47, Model 1887, UZI) are old as $hit, being in existence for decades. Makes perfect sense right?

I’m a serious fps player and i have cod mw2 on ps3 and xbox360 i like all gaming consoles can't be bothered to argue which ones best, but i think people moan about a particular game because there rubbish at it.

If you think theres no skill or team work then come and play a clan game, i remember on this site last year a vast majority of you were liking cod, kz is good bf series is good but don't knock a game because others enjoy it and you don't.

i only played for about 3 hours w mates split screen

1st granade launcher was bs, everyone jsut abused it

2nd. the killstreaks ddn't make sense to me, and i even asked them myself "why does the game reward the better players? thats like have a lion against a goat, and giving the lion a shotgun JUST IN CASE HE COULDN'T KILL THE GOAT"

3rd. weed references and n00bness (like rewarding the camper) proves this game IS for kids...just like i thought it did

Only one I don't get is the one for not going into Prestige, especially since it's impossible to get some of the emblems/titles for the later guns if you Prestige quickly. Perfect example is I have a friend who had 6 nukes, without camping I might add, and he got frustrated in one game so he just Prestiged really fast and now he's pissed because he forgot he now has to get all of those again for credit toward the emblem.

The most satisfying feeling in any video game ever is successfully killing someone with a throwing knife.

yes, i arrived on the roof of a building, looking around for a kill, and then i noticed a person three roofs away, i just had him aimed with my sight, and i noticed this silver thing spining towards me, i must have said WTF IS THAT, about three times, before it killed me, then i watched the replay and said no f++king way is that a knife, i best avoid them in the future

I have finally traded my copy in. I got £25 for it so got Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, not a perfect game but a lot more playable than MW2.
