Boo. Just boo. I used to love the Tony Hawk games. Tony Hawk 2 on PSOne was amazing. It was my favorite. Epic downfall from that point on. I guess Mr. Hawk is just pissed because no one is buying all his useless crap anymore. Who still skateboards? I sometimes see kids CARRYING skateboards....but actually riding them? No. Their girl pants are too tight.

I played the series since ps1. Upgraded to broadband just to host 8 player matches on THUG. Bought thug2 which wasnt great. Played a copy of the next gen ones and it was awful.
If they made a "next gen" of THUG, I'd buy it day 1.

The pro skater series sold well because it was FUN. Not realistic. If I wanted realistic I'd buy Skate.

I bet money you would never hold a candle to the things Hawk has done athletically in his life (No, not Ever), but since you make light of the fact that some people want "more money", you probably don't have any to bet anyway. All the guy has done is basically invented vert and nearly all of the tricks that you CANNOT do today. Pathetic.

While you're sitting in your computer chair eating cheetos and bagel bites, Tony Hawk is doing incredible things on a skateboard - not to make money, but because he loves it. He does bagel bites commercials for money.

Speaking of money, this guy has enough money to fill his swimming pool with it and dive in, Scrooge McDuck style. He doesn't need to lend his name to awful games to make money.

And I hate articles like this that are written directly to somebody, like Tony Hawk is ever going to read this or even know of its existence. Yeah, the game almost certainly sucks, but it's funny to get so outraged over it by throwing around "how dare you"'s and what not.

I used to like TH games, being a skater when I was younger (prefer the long board now), but now I'd much rather play Skate, it's just more accurate, still over the top, but better than the crazy combos you can pull in TH.

With all due respect to angered gamers and whoever wrote this; Activision made the game. Blame them. Tony Hawk is just a skater. He's had a good run as a game influence, but his accomplishments never needed to include that series of games.

Even if his name sake game fails, skating games will continue on as a sub-genre. Any new skating enthusiasts will drive business to his skating brands. Tony Hawk still has a vested interest in these games being made. He's probably just contractually bound to Activision. And they're likely paying him a buttload anyway. Who's gonna turn down that kinda money?

If he is contractually obliged, which I doubt/hope he isn't then in essence that's his own making. Plus he pushed this peripheral like there was no tomorrow and seemed to take genuine offence at something that wasn't even his creation, merely had his name plastered all over it.

Also, it was Robomodo who made the game, Activision funded/published it.

This game would've been solid had they never shifted focus away from just a controller. I'll always remember Tony Hawk games for what they once were, not what they have become.

Only used to skateboard when i was 6-10yrsold.

Never grabbed me like some.

But it's just a name behind a game.

Same with alot of things and there is alot more of it these days.

Celebs looking for extra money doing workout's and doing dvd's of them.

I started skating in 1988 and never stopped . Tony has never been really cool. He was always respected as he was so good for so long but he has never been really popular with skaters . too clean cut .

Last TH game I played was project 8 and that was fun for the slow mo flip tricks but its been a tired format since THPS4 .

Tony if your trying to sell to skaters we dont want stupid combos, boards to stand on , or dumb mini games. We want challenging games with realistic tricks . we want skate

I'm sorry, but playing a skateboarding game with a balance board doesn't really strike me as being that fun... just ask Shaun White.

Personally I was hoping they'd just build off Proving Grounds... I thought that was a pretty great game...

Wow just wow,i believe Hawk has the right to an opinion,the bad thing for him that this game really sucks but at what he referred about the critics and reviews he is mostly right,now about this looser he is saying that Hawks is looking down on us because he made money from a thing that u can't call it a job,this guy should be the last this to talk about that,our job is to play games,wow if he believes that is a real work,he should get out in the world and see how people struggle with real work not playing some stupid videogames and then criticize Hawk for what he's doing,they call themselves experts in what they are doing,a 12 years old kid can do what they are doing with videogames
