Who really cares? We all just want to play good games right? We can debate which system has the best value for different types of gamers. But who really cares? How many of us had ps2 and xbox? I did. And sure i had more xbox games. But I had some ps2 games too. Sure the graphics were better on the xbox but it didn't stop me from enjoying Gods of War. Sometimes I sit back and I just don't get it. Why does gametime feel like he has to bash the 360 and call it names? There isn't anything Gametime can say to stop the 360 from selling out as it has been and continuing to sell worldwide and at the very least selling more units than the original xbox. Thats a success for MS. Same with the ps3. We can list all of our concerns about blu ray, game developement, ect...but its not going to stop the ps3 from selling. No one knows who will outsell who. It will come down to games. And right now we can say that no game has garnered the hype that Gears of War has. But you never know. Sony, i'm sure has some tricks up their sleave too. But for there first 3 to 4 million consoles they don't need any hyped games. But after the launch window they will need something exciting to draw gamers in.....Its should be fun and interesting. But ask yourself. Do you really care? Get what you want.

Here's the deal, when people go into a store to or chose what system to buy before hand there not gonna know of what little things that go on around the PS3. Like the bad rep. of E3 and so on.

This is how their gonna think, the majority of people are gonna say wait till price comes down significantly. The original fanboys/buyers will buy one at launch and most likely cause shortages for the next 6 months. Over 2007 when a few killer games come out PS3's will see a boost in sales. But the majority waiting for a price cut won't be able to get one till around mid 2008. Before then the best Sony couuld do is bundle an old launch game or something.

Even at Sony's best they could get PS3's price down to 400-500 by end of 2008 or 2009. Now what price is the competition gonna be at. The 360 core for 200, and premium for 300 easily. Wii being at 200 but I don't think the wii is set for long term and the hype is already dying out.

Okay if you've followed the PS2 you'd know it only really sold at under 200 bucks and that's where they got their big fanbase. So how is the PS3 gonna do when it's stuck at 400-500 in Q4 2008. You can figure that one out on your own, but the price cut people are waiting for can't compete with the other consoles. Because the majority of people like the games that are multiplatform they'll go to the cheaper console.

And sadly people care more about how much money their gonna loose and what performance their gonna get. Their not gonna care about wifi or wireless network, or USBs/Card readers. All their gonna look at is PRICE and performance(games).

Now you may think know friends that will definately get a PS3 cause of games or whatever but that minority of launch buyers die out quickly. I really can't see the PS3 selling that well through 2008.

It's not alone that 200 extra. Which in fact is an extra WiFi controller and 3 extra games for a 360.

So for the price of only the PSZero with one controller and NO games you'll get a 360 Premium with 2 controllers and 3 games. And off you go, with the best game of this year Gears of War

Console: 600 dollar
Games: 79, 89 it might get up to 100 dollar

So after you bought it, it gets real expensive.

360 with an extra controller and 3 games, the price of a PSZero: 600 dollar

PSZero with an extra controller and 3 games: close to 1.000 dollar

PS3 is going to win the world by storm just like PSP did. It will sell for the first couple weeks/months and it'll loose its popularity. UMD format has failed. Utterly. Also "on PSP UMD" ads have vanished from TV commercials. UMD shelves are overstocked. No one is interested. PSP has been chipped/pirated like a two dollar whore. No one has a need to buy a PSP game when they can freely download it. PSP has failed. Expensive product. Sony product. Failed.

Its almost a year and it only sold that much. Thats is weak. You can go to any store right now and ask the retailer why no one is buying the xboxx60. This is what they gonna say. Go get your facts straight. It has been reported, at the end of June 5 million were sold period.

And you can't count in general. It's the beginning of August 2006. The 360 got released in the States end of november, in Europe begin of december, Japan afterwards. Let's say it's out in those area's for 8 months. So still one third of that period to go and in 7 months it sold 5 million (end of June it is).

That is with other countries like Australia and for example Korea etc. only launched later during 2006. Sales catch up.

I don't know how you count years, but I do it with 12 months and not 8

These companies aren't in a battle. They are selling consoles and trying to best their last outings. Ms is trying to best the 24 million consoles sold last time...and they are on track to shatter that mark with 5 million sold the fastest in history...and Sony is trying to best the 100 million consoles sold the last two gens. This is so funny how most of these articles are negative to sony and all of the ps3 adopters are on here defending and trying to discredit the articles and don't believe it but there is another article on here that gives just a little positive to the ps3 and there are all of a sudden over 300 comments whole hearedly believing the article as the word of God for the gaming community. So only believe the good but the bad ones just can't be true. Open your eyes and see things for what they are and for all the PS3 defenders that want to proclaim how much more powerful the ps3 is, just remember that the xbox was more powerful than the ps2 and on the multiplatform games they shared the xbox usually got the better content and a better version but the ps2 still sold better, so more powerful does not mean better.

Actually I have seen this a lot on both sides, xbox fans saying the same thing. Honestly look at this site #38, it is not a PS3 site. The site is news for gamers, not just ps3 gamers. If you stay at the home page you get news on all of the consoles and pc about anything gaming so they are not just coming to a ps3 "site" to mess with you, they are posting on a public site for gamers about an issue that they have an interest in.

I agree. Even with the bad talking and so called bad news...the ps3 will still sell and devs will still utilize the hardware and make great games. But when we play it hands on thats when we can be more critical. I have doubts about many of Sony's choices but thats it. And I tend to only get defensive over the 360 because I have it and like it. Lets all be gamers. And just because its a ps3 article or xbox article doesn't mean anyone can't voice their thoughts or opinions. But keep it respectful. Agree to disagree is the best way. Me and Truth agree to disagree just like my real world friends do. We still play games together and have discussions...But respectful discussions.

The Xbox lost BILLIONS of dollars, the PS2 smeared it up one wall and down the other, did the same thing to the Dreamcast. The only reason the 360 is alive is because MS has freaking HUGE pocket books and if the Xbox platform does eventually shut the Playstation brand down it will be for that reason alone.

What's posted as "news" here especially as of late is completely laughable and used nothing more than to fuel the console wars. I subscribed to the PS3 RSS feed to keep up to date with Playstation 3 news and instead we keep getting Xbot drivel.

Game attach rate last gen:

PS2: 1.9
Gamecube 1.9
XBOX 2.4

And xbox got and people paid for Live. It's in the end the more viable businessplan. You'll see that with the 360

Games attach rate: 4.5
Extra hardware sold: 3 pieces per unit
XBL very large attach rate, due to free silver. People want to go on Live even more then on the original xbox. You just don't want to miss it.

The forecasts show that MS will start to make profit on 360 in the fiscal year 2008. That starts july 2007. That's less then one year from now.

I guess Sony needs hughe pocket books now. They loose about 600 million dollar every quarter of the year since first quarter 2005.

Every 10 million PS3 units sold will bring them a massive 3 billion dollar loss.

Now tell me again: PS3 fighting a loosing battle? Yep? No? Not sure?
