I'm playing the beta right now, and well may I just say... I'd let ND have me if they wanted. All of them. At once.

Yes, this game is 21/20. It is one of the finest gaming experiences of my life and I've only played it for an hour, as a beta version. No doubt this game trounces all other console games visually, it even comes close to Crysis level at times (despite the obvious differences of a vast open-world simulation and a focused, linear, small-scale environment). It boggles the mind how ND have squeezed this much beauty out of this machine. There's nothing that I can see that could possibly deny this it's rightful place as game of the year.

There might be a couple more, but this is all I remember. Soul Calibur came out in 1999. I'm assuming this decade means: 2000-2009. Otherwise, I would have included it.

EDIT: For now, could a mod just add a 10/10 for the score. It'd be awesome if you could add it as 21/20, but at least get it documented.

IGN said they wanted to give MGS4 an 11: "Is it possible to give a game an 11? If so, this would be the game that would merit that score."

And now Uncharted 2 gets a score higher than "perfection"! What exactly does 21/20 mean? Other-worldly? So good one could only dream of such an amazing game? So incredible that our tiny human minds can't comprehend it's awesomeness? I can't fvcking wait for this masterpiece!

Wow, it's going to be an incredible game for sure. If it is as good as I think it will be I don't know how it wouldn't get game of the year. The first Uncharted was, in my opinion, the best game to come out that year and I think it was a little under-appreciated (even though it did receive a quite favorable critical reception). I really hope this one gets the full recognition that it will almost certainly deserve.

Actually, this has everything to do with the PS3! If the PS3 didn't exist, ND would be working on the 360 which can't even run U2. I'm not making the comment in context of the xbox 360 or other consoles. I know the 360 can't render this game. In this world of talented people, even if Sony didn't exist, there would still be a console on which Naughty Dog could develop Uncharted. Maybe it would be later than now if it wasn't for sony, or even sooner. However, given our timeline, it would be anachronistic and not very smart for anybody to have released a console of the ps3's power in like 2003.

Like I said, the PS3 takes part in the victory, but I wouldn't make it 50/50 or like some people are saying; the victory alternates between the 2 as 100%

Why should they judge Uncharted 2 on a different scale than they judge other games? They think Uncharted 2 is better than games they awarded a 10 to... they're not going to change the scale for one game (actually, two if you count GTA:SA)

Basically, it's not efficient for them to get a new container, so we'll just have to put up with the overflow from Uncharted 2.

Yeah, that is awesome. Uncharted2 engine is so much better in comparison with the first iteration, its incredible how much ND has accomplished in such a short time.

It seems Sony's first/second party devels have a firm grip (and getting better) over the PS3 hardware. UC2 is just the first of incredible games to come.

I just want to play Halo 3:ODST just after Uncharted 2... and just be completely baffled that both these games are being released on the same time after the same developement window and both exclusive.

I'm going to be blown away especially since well Halo 3:ODST doesn't have a multiplayer(unique one) so all they had to do was make singleplayer while Uncharted had to add a CO-OP and singleplayer.

Why do companies even bother anymore... this game is almost too good, it raises the bar too quickly. Like a 100m sprinter who runs 100m in 8.5 seconds.

Its not as hardcore and maybe not as rewarding, but its much easier quicker and fun imo and it does new things like climbing and the cqc stealth kills can also be pretty satisfying and there is not as much relentless headshots it also feels like uncharted which adds points.

So imo if u weigh it up it is as good. This is going by the earlier beta.

On face value its a simple straight forward action adventure game similar to great action adventure movies like Indy, The Mummy and Romancing the Stone. The story/plot are definately not near as complex as MGS but character wise. Uncharted characters are very memeroable just as much as MGS but very believable unlike MGS. ND did an amazing job in bring characters in Uncharted to life that people can relate to i.e. they feel real. This is why alot of people gamers and game journalist were very dissapointed when Sully and Elena were no show in the first couple of U2 footage without them.

MGS4 is a masterpeice however, Uncharted is the frist game i played that really made me feel like i was playing a great action adventure movie. The script is perfect in Uncharted. MGS4 there were some parts in the script that could have been edited.

I think that GG would be the BEST for KZ3 because they already have the assets in place. No...the game was not perfect. But, it could EASILY become perfect with a few tweaks and fixes on their previous attempt at perfection. SM and ND would have to start from ground zero and that might hamper the game. The reason that UC2 will be great is BECAUSE ND was able to create all of the assets on the original UC. So, for this iteration the dev time was spent MOSTLY on perfection, balance, and polish and very little on creating assets (engine, physics, graphics, etc.).

This is in my opinion a contender for game of the generation. I see absolutely no flaws (and I'm sure they might be some minor ones) and it just looks fantastic.

Graphics - 10/10 - Best on any console thus far
Audio - 10/10 - Outstanding voice-acting and soundtrack.

Big surprise! A PS magazine gives Uncharted 2 a huge score... Hype sells, not quality. True gamers out there need to realize that exclusives are always looked at more favorably than multi-platform titles. Resistance 1 was garbage, yet because it's an exclusive, it's praised by fanboys the world over. Same goes for overrated games like Halo.

Well, I have to say from what i have played it is off the chart. I thought KZ2 graphics were fantastic especially the lighting but U2 is simply pushing the envelope further. Yummy eye candy ! The frame rate is smooth as silk, v-lock is enabled so no tearing here baby and its very solid online. If the beta is anything to go by expect very high scores regardless of the publication that reviews the final code. Cant wait to get my hands on it.

I don't see anyone complaining bitterly. I see disagrees with their scores, but that's understandable. Infamous gets a 71% and Ghostbusters gets a 85% - Anyone who's played both would question that review. God of War 2 gets a 6 out of 10, despite a metacritic score of 93 overall.

Funny, I see more people on here complaining of PSM3 being biased by giving Uncharted 21/20 then I do fans cheering this.

Personally, I don't trust PSM3 as far as I can throw them. They're ratings are often so far off from my own judgment I wonder if they've even played the same game as me sometimes.

This is a just a mockery to their rating system, and from now on I will never trust an official magazine review score. If 20/20 is perfect, what is Uncharted 2? The SUPREME game? I doubt it, since very few times in gaming history you saw a game achieve ALMOST total perfection, to rate a game better than perfect is outrageous. But I agree that U2 looks awesome and a Triple A title, just not a completely PERFECT game, because, in truth, there isn't.

I have a PS3 and I LOVED Uncharted 1, but this PSM score of 21/20 is laughable, and so are you guys for taking it so biasedly. Get your head out of your asses or at least the ass of PSM.

Talking about the open zone then I agree 100%, but the open zone is there to keep us separate from them so I wouldnt bother getting annoyed.

Otherwise here on the gamer zone Ive not seen many really fanboy posts, just praise for the game.

And at the end of the day all fanboys are bad, and weather ps3 fanboys make stupid posts or not 360 fanboys will never be happy for them. Its againt the fanboy mindset.

That sounds like a deserving score. Anytime you have a sequel that offers you a different experience from the first you have a winner.

A few examples of the sequel being great are:

- Visuals: The graphics are more impressive than the first game, right when you thought Uncharted could not get any better you have this game which purely shows the power of the PS3 and makes it the best looking game on the system.

- Gameplay: While it's not too much different, a few new things were added to make the game seem fresh, which it needed not too much change from the previous title. You want to leave in whatever has worked and Uncharted was def. a game that worked, showed a little repetition, but looks like in Uncharted 2 it was all eliminated.

- Story: The story has improved over the previous game making it longer, and better, with a deeper cast and top notch writing.

It fully deserves the score it got and once out on shelves here no doubt it will get a ton more high scores.

Interesting, one of the first times I've seen anyone review a game at 110%. Percentage wise it doesn't make a lot of sense and reminds me of Maury Povich's show.

Definitely going to picking up Uncharted 2, at some point before Christmas. Though I doubt it will be my GOTY, as Naughty Dog likes to release their games around the same time that Bioware does.

Oh boy that just looks funny. Uncharted gets 21/20 (%105), which means it's better than MGS4 (10/10-%100 which was another exaggeration). I don't know if the game is that monstrous yet, but I know something for sure, there's now way it can best MGS4. I'm not going to take these scorings seriously until they start to make some sense one day.

You are actually wrong on this one, sorry. If you pour 105% of a jar's capacity into the jar, it overflows, HOWEVER the liquid still exists. There is still 105%(jarCapacity) of the liquid there. There is still 105% awesomeness for uncharted 2. It might be easier for you to understand in terms of slices of pie. If you order a pie from a restraunt hoping for 10 slices, and you get the pie, and it in fact has 10 slices you are happy. However, if the waiter comes back with extra pie, you are even more happy. Thats what Naughty Dog did here, they came back with MORE pie than anyone expected or ordered. :) I cannot wait for this game.

How come nobody thinks you can have >100% of anything here? have you people not "topped" off your gas tank and watched the needle go above the F? When you top off a gas tank you are putting more than 100% of the determined capacity in the car.
