Gamescom 09: Gran Turismo Screens

Over at gamescom in Cologne the German site PlaystationPortable.de fetched some new images of Gran Turismo for the PSP.

The pictures are very low quality and you can't tell anything from such small compressed pictures. It looks good and still runs at 60FPS!

480x272 resolution, That is almost the exact screen size of the psp. What are you talking about?

Those are called bullshots. I'm surprised you don't know this considering every major game releases them in some form. Uncharted 2, Gears of War 2, Halo 3, KZ2, L4D etc... all released bullshots frequently.

This is the PSP & not GT5

However its not their fault that they could not add damage since car manufacturers only give exclusive deals to certain developers. Its a BIG BIG shame that Polyphony Digital were not given the rights especially considering their status amongst the Gaming industry!

Maybe EA and Turn10 quickly seized the opportunity before Polyphony could show them up!

Forza wil never outsell GT because the Xbox 360 has never been defined by just one auto racing game. It has Forza 2, soon Forza 3, Project Gotham Racing 3 & 4, Race Pro, not to mention the only current generation version of Burnout Revenge. While Forza is clearly the best of the bunch, as well as the truest sim, there are many different games for racing fans to choose from. Therefore, one particular game will not constitute a bulk of the sales.

The gamescom 09 trailer was added. But they are only showing the E3 one again just on the official press kit in Cologne.

No doubt this game looks good, but I have a question. Why do a lot of PSP games have what looks to me like a sort of diamond pattern across the screen? It's almost like it's a filter I'm looking through. It doesn't matter if it's a screen shot, in-game paused or in motion, racing or sports, I've noticed this pattern on a lot of games. What is it? Something to do with the lighting? Games would look a lot better if they weren't there somehow. It's bugged me for so long.

Look at this zoomed in picture of the windshield to see the pattern I'm talking about. And it's not because I zoomed it in, It's on the original too.
