James Rivington from Tech.co.uk:
I've been rather outspoken about the PS3 in the past. I have criticised its high price, I've called it ugly and to be honest I've given Sony's new baby a bit of a rough time. Have you ever called someone else's baby 'ugly' behind their back only to find out that actually it's quite cute after all?
That's the sort of the guilt I'm feeling right now, because after having a play with one for a week I've actually changed my mind about the PS3. It's actually..ahemm... rather good. Sure there are not a massive number of excellent games out for it yet, but as a piece of kit there are some things which I think are really really cool and worth considering. Here are ten of them:
Final Fantasy 7 has come back under the spotlight thanks to the release of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, but is it worth replaying the original?
Very much so. Graphically it's dated but the story and the gameplay haven't aged a day. It's still one of my all time favourite RPGs and for me is better than Remake in some ways.
Former Rockstar Games Technical Director Obbe Vermeij has finally revealed why some planes would randomly crash in GTA: San Andreas.
This fly by feature was on the cutting room floor due to the random plane crashes and it's one of those things I'm so thankful made it into the final version as these random fly by and crashes make the world seem more alive on the extremely limited PS2 hardware you needed everything you could possibly get in a open world to convey that feeling.
And accross hundreds of hours of gameplay I probably died around 3 times as a result of these fly by failures but I loved every time it happened
It made the world feel more human, and honestly kinda insane that even today with all these open world games, almost no one can capture that like R* even when compared to their ps2 games
Lol, I remember those. I vaguely remember dying from one crashing into my car once too.
Final Fantasy XVI producer Naoki Yoshida is interested in working on a brand new Final Fantasy Tactics game.
Not from you.
Knowing how you handled FF16 by trying to make it appeal to non-fans and changing the entire gameplay design I can see you changing Tactics to appeal to non-fans.
If they’re going to do this please give it to someone who wants to keep the game and genre in tact.
I wouldn't mind a new FF Tactics longs they keep the tactical elements of Tactics in it as well as a very in depth story. Which FF Tactics years ago has by far one of the best stories in the series.
Talking badly about it didn't get you enough attention (worst part is initially he did not even have one to review/critique yet went ahead anyway? what a douche) so you will now try a less popular approach and actually spend time using the "kit".
Add another one to the list of individuals who have seen the light.
People will eventually know what all the buzz is about. As soon as the big game titles start rolling in that is.
@OneBubbleBastard...."NO GAMES?? STILL SEXY", priceless. hahaha really funny

@poopDust....I'm also your father b1tch. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA
Since he pretty much admits to making criticisms based on little or no experience with the subject matter, I find it hard to take anything he says seriously.
I really don't like hearing about how bad something sucks, especially when I've spent money on it.
But more than that, I hate hearing someone go back on their previous statements because it turns out they were an ignorant ass to begin with.
