Bioware are best known for their interpretations of existing franchises: Knights Of The Old Republic remains a classic RPG that took Star Wars in more interesting directions than it had ever been before, and Neverwinter Nights makes fine use of the Forgotten Realms universe.
They're also a company who love to tell a story, and with Jade Empire they invented their entire world; sure, it's lifted from Chinese mythology and history, but they were only constrained by what felt right. CVG spoke to Jade Empire's senior producer, Diarmid Clarke, about the development process of the game they've been wanting to make for aeons...

They've addressed this before, Microsoft owns the IP and its upto them but its better to leave it then make a sequel. The OGs have a new studio and are working on a Sci-Fi game for next gen
They're to busy trying to keep Anthem alive and I doubt EA will fire up an old ip. And on top of that if they did make the game it will probably be as bad as ME Andromeda since most of the talent is gone now leave it to EA to wreck a good company.
ME Andromeda was disappointing, but it was still a pretty good game, IMO. I would rather get another Jade Empire, even if it's only that good, rather than not get another one at all.

I was hoping for more info about Dragon Age but it was alright. The game's story and world were great. Hope they make a sequel or at least port original to next gen systems.
Excellent RPG, completed it 3 times, although KOTOR was slightly better.
Jade Empire had a great twist in the story.
that KOTOR was better. But I give props to Bioware for always wanting to make new IPs and keep it fresh. I only wish they would have used the graphics engine from Jade Empire for KOTOR, as I thought KOTORS was very choppy. Still both great games though.....Next up Mass Effect.
