Play: First Thoughts on 1 vs. 100

Play: "At their E3 2008 press briefing, Microsoft made the announcement of a new service--Xbox Live Primetime--that promised to bring scheduled gaming events to their Xbox Live service that would blend online gaming with the world of "primetime" television. It seemed like a rather interesting idea, but I wasn't completely sure of what real impact it was going to have in a market already crowded with lofty ideas and quirky gimmicks."

"For a generation of gamers who have now become accustomed to launching their consoles and playing what they want when and how they want it, that's going to seem simply bizarre. And yet, as I waited the half-hour that would have to pass between my getting everything downloaded and ready and the start of the two hour block I would be a part of, something about my knowing I would only have this limited window in which to experience 1 vs. 100 made it feel kind of special."

"For many of you out there, this entire thing may elicit little more than a yawn; yet if you stop to appreciate what Microsoft has really put together here, however, you can't help but be impressed by the chance they're taking. I'm on record as being far from a Microsoft or Xbox apologist, but after trying 1 vs. 100 I can do nothing but give the folks in Redmond credit for making an honest attempt to bring something new to the Xbox 360 at a point where they could have easily just sat back and stayed the course. The New Xbox Experience, and now Xbox Live Primetime, show that while they are obviously interested in any feature they can tout for showing why they are the "premiere gaming experience," they also are legitimately trying to do new and exciting things that neither of their competitors have dared to attempt or even consider."

-Yeah this should be really interesting, 360 owners aren't known for their casual interests but this does seem like a good idea most anybody would at least like to try out so we'll see.

Could Xbox Live’s 1 vs. 100 Really Make a Comeback?

It's been a little bit since we last heard about a possible 1 vs. 100 revival on Xbox Series X|S, but Xbox still hasn't done anything to discourage the rumors. If it does come back though, will it actually be able to outlast the original?

Xbox Boss Phil Spencer Hints a Possible Return of The Iconic 1 vs 100 Game

During Fanfest, Spencer said that that they were planning a fan fest trivia, and the entire team was working on the project. However, it didn't turn out the way they wanted. He continued saying we are still planning to do something... "maybe we should even be building our own trivia game like from our past and allow people to play a trivia game more often. Maybe that could happen."

Had a lot of fun with it, back in the day.
Wouldn't mind seeing it return.

gamer78041354d ago

this 100%!!!! they could put it on gamespass even if that would be what they have to do.

PrinceAli1354d ago

Why.. so it could be ignored..? It'S GOT to be on GWG FIRST then later be put on Gamepass

gamer78041354d ago

I'm just saying if they need to recoup costs, I'd rather it be for gold subscribers of course so more people could enjoy it.

Godmars2901354d ago

What's the difference between GWG and Gamepass? Aren't both on PC?

gamer78041354d ago

@godmars. Games with gold is the free games you get with your gold subscription, gamespass is a separate service where you get access to lots of games and all of the Microsoft owned games

RebelWAC1354d ago

Man, this was that type of quality app that made the 360 shine back in the day. This was crazy fun

crazyCoconuts1354d ago

Oh, that's right...Fall Guys isn't on Xbox... Warming the seat, got it....
