New Ace Combat game headed to PS3?

Namco Bandai recently revealed Katamari Damacy Tribute for the PS3, after the previously Sony exclusive franchise jumped ship to the XBox 360. It seems that the Ace Combat franchise may be up for a similar treatment. A Japanese job listing reveals that Ace Combat may be making a return flight to the PS3.

i agree to a certain point really... i love both but i enjoyed to ace combate series very much,as for anything this gen or anything after AC ,i never liked.
It will be very interesting to see if this becomes exclusive since i think airplane games have a hard time making a success in the console industry.
PLUS,everything including the devs are swaying sonys way pretty quickly,and im thinking it has to do with the low cost development tools they announced and devs are gunna be looking to save money and use it to make a better game. :)

i used to like Ace combat on PS2. then i tried HAWX demo. it was bland... i mean i hated the automatic locking. i mean i didn't find it fun shooting down the enemies when they are miles away.. i think i like to face the enemy. dogfight i thought is what i want. those WWI and WWII kinda dog fights. so recently i downloaded the Red Baron demo. and as i started playing i was like - "wtf! i can't even figure out who the enemies are!"

well.. and i got killed million times when i went online.

i'll try the demo of this game before i buy it though.

I had ace combat 6 on 360 and I though it was a really fun game. Although my favorite thing to do was fly under bridges upside down and do stunts more than the missions.

I wonder if this is a new version or an new game. if its a new game I hope its on 360 too cause I liked the other one. Its refreshing to play a game thats not a 3rdPS or FPS these days.

Hawx is not bad and until AC comes around on the PS3 its the top tier flying game, no doubt about it (well, if you can't run the AC PS2 series on your PS3).

What they are more likely saying is, PS3 has finally got its install base up to something that matters, so now we can ALSO release these games on PS3 without it being a complete waste of time and money.

It's unpopular, because of alot of people cannot handle flight in a game.

I'm not brilliant at it, but i get by.

I actually love the fly mechanics in Warhawk, yes it's not real etc, but it's very rewarding and entertaining.

I think flight could also be used in other games, that have nothing to do with sims/etc.

Like a sequence of controlling a plane, chopper, etc. For a short while, just like games have car sections. Maybe more people would enjoy it.

I like flying in BF2, But i think the flying model in those games is so much easier, then in the earlier battlefield series.

See, I have trouble with the flight in Warhawk. The main reason is the switching between normal flight and hoovering which changes the controls. I had some practice runs and eventually I got it (well, I am not great, but I could fly that thing).

AC, and Hawx, and also Blazing Angles II got the more traditional approach which I like more. Hawx and BA use the same motion controls (which has improved from BA I to II) and work really well in now even in Hawx. I hope AC will get that, too, and it'll work well.

AC is a multiplat game that was only released on the 360 because there wasn't enough time to make the game for the PS3 since it wasn't out.

The franchise is now multiplat and its nice to see that it stays that way.

MS is not losing an exclusive since AC6 is still on the 360 and not the PS3. This will be a new AC game that will be on both consoles.

Thus MS didn't lose an exclusive as AC 7 will likely be on both - MS gained an exclusive with AC6.

Sony lost a once exclusive franchise.

AC was an exclusive franchise to the PS brand. But becuase the 360 was releasing 1 year earlier than the PS3 then Namco decided to bulid the game for the 360. There is no hidden agenda there, Devs need to create games to make money. If the PS3 was out before the 360 then i am sure AC6 would have been exclusive to the PS3.

AC6 is exclusive to the 360 cause its not coming to the PS3.

A new AC is in the works and that will most likely be multi becase in these times 3rd party devs need to maximize returns.

Second, since there is no word on what the project is, it also means that there are not any confirmed platforms which if its a new project your encroachment defense of an its "exclusivity" is pointless and makes you look paranoid not to mention fanboyish. Third, you are not exposing the facts, you are pushing your point of view on them and declaring that as fact also known to some as spin. The only fact is that ace combat 6 released on the 360 exclusively this gen but for whatever reason namco decided to break this gen exclusivity to bring the franchise to ps3. - They are making a NEW AC game (read the title of the Article). Since its NEW then it wouldn't be a port. And since AC6 is already out then a NEW AC would be #7.

We fans of Air Dog fighting games we need to stand up and demand all this developers to give us Real Simulation Dog fighting games on both consoles.

Ace Combat 6 have a good story, nice characters, great graphics, good sound but its just another lame arcade game. Hawks suck, i hope you get it and if you wanna buy it or rent it go ahead its your money.

Now pay attention there is one game that really give me a dose of what i want on a console Air dog fighting game and the name is -> Over G <- This don't have the Quality of Graphics, Sound and Story that Ace Combat 6 have but damn its a hardcore sim on a console. If you get a copy of this game send me a message and i will teach a few things on it. On AC6 you have almost unlimited ammo, fuel and you can resist any quantity of G's but in Over G no no no that game rules! an F-15 can carry only 8 missiles and thats what you have 8! 4 short range and 4 mediums To evade missiles in that game you need to apply some of the technics real pilots use in real life and the use of flares and chaff wisely.

Like i told you let me know when you get a copy of this game and ask for a member of the clan Air Devils let them know "Loco" send you.

By the way the BEST multiplayer Air Dog Fighting game its not Ace Combat 6 its Over G.
Everybody that have Over G also have Ace Combat 6 and all of them agree on this.

Ive been playing Ace Combat since the 1st on PSOne i already know that but they keep giving us the same stupid arcade experience. This its next gen we are supposed to have best gameplay experience than the last gen and that is more important than graphics. You have Flight Simulation on PC but not in consoles. The developers can't give us excuses now. :P

I play ace combat on my psp when i take fights.
the only way they are gonna make ace combat better is if they actually have great ground graphics and a more in depth c0ckpit view.

it has to be more realistic and who knows how long its gonna take to get it there?
ace combat on 360 just improved the smoke from missles fired.
for all that, i'll just stick with the psp version.

Bioshock failed on PS3 for Three reasons.

1)A poorish port. Didn't look better, looked worse.

2)Same price as new game, except it had already been out on 360,PC.

3)Neither game sold that well on either platform. Lost planet as well, considering how many shooter gamers there are.

Bioshock was miles better then gears. Yet sold less.

Lost planet got boring after ashort while, abit assasins creed.

Actually this is good news to me. Ive played all of the Ace Combat series and when AC 6 released on the 360.. That was a shock to me.
