IGN: The PlayStation Q&A

This year has been pretty sweet for Sony fans. The PlayStation 3 saw cross platform hits such as GTA IV and Dead Space as well as exclusive juggernauts like LittleBigPlanet and Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. Meanwhile, the PSP killed in Japan and got Patapon and Chains of Olympus along with the redesigned PSP-3000 in the United States.

Where do you go when you want to know if the PSP is dead, where the hell Home is, and what year three will mean for the PlayStation 3? Easy, Sony Computer Entertainment America Director of Hardware Marketing John Koller.

Recently, IGN got a hold of Koller and put him under the PlayStation spotlight.

those who I see with a PSP are usually not playing games with it, while those few people I see with a DS are playing Pokemon and making themselves look bad.

Year 3 for PS3 will be awesome, we might see GOW3, Infamous, Killzone 2, and Uncharted 2. There are more I just forgot, Sony and MS are really queit for 09.

I hope the PSP starts having good times like in late 2006/2007. More anthologies would be great and exclusive platformers.

I'd like to get a PSP. Mainly for Remote play.

All of the games you mentioned are being developed by Sony

Interesting article. At the end Koller talks about the possibility of "hybrid disks" where a PS3 game disk might have some extra game demos or movie trailers thrown onto the disk. We're actually already seeing this. Dead Space on the PS3 had two other high-profile EA games on the disk in the form of demos: Burnout and Bad Company. Keep in mind that these demos were not available on the 360 version of the disk.

xbox did this 1st.....doom moive played on xbox unlock the doom 3 demo

@ Jack Who

Squaresoft did it first. They packed a bunch of demos of their games with Final Fantasy 8.

Lol.

Why do these interview guys go lite on these people? I'd have asked some tougher questions for sure. This guy is a powder puff cake walker, man.

cmrbe5623d ago

I imagine you giving him a heart Attack lol!.

Silogon5623d ago

I would have too... They'd have to break the jumper cables for this guy if I had him in the hot seat.

Harry1905623d ago

Did they just talk about 'hybrid discs' for the PSP in the last question...that thing about PSP games on Blu-Ray is very very interesting.

As they said. Ask and you shall recieve. Knock and the door will be opened.

For me personally i want a Snake Avatar. Sony make it happen NOW!.

Tales Of Graces Ƒ Retro Review – Holding Out For a Hero

Gary Green said: Namco Bandai heard the call of many fans asking for the PlayStation release of Tales of Graces which was originally released seemingly exclusively for the Wii back in 2009. If you’re acquainted with the Tales series then Graces f won’t be something entirely new to you, yet if you’re a newcomer then you’ll find a plethora of gameplay mechanics and nuances that distinguish this series from other JRPGs. While the game finds itself following the traditional archetype of JRPGs, such as a somewhat clichéd story, Graces has something to offer to both veterans and newcomers alike.

It's A Crime That There's No Sleeping Dogs 2 Yet

Huzaifah from eXputer: "Sleeping Dogs from the early 2010s is one of the best open-world games out there but in dire need of a resurgence."

LG_Fox_Brazil3d ago

I agree, I consider the first one a cult classic already

isarai3d ago

You say "yet" as if it's even possible anymore. United Front Games is gone, along with anyone that made this game what it is

CrimsonWing692d ago

That’s what happens when games sell poorly. And I’ve seen people wonder why people cry when a game sells badly… this is your answer.

solideagle2d ago

Majority of the time it's true but if a company/publisher is big (in terms of money), they can take a hit or 2. e.g. I am not worried about Rebirth sales as Square will make Remake 3 anyway but if FF 17 doesn't sell then Square might need to look for alternative. <-- my humble opinion

Abnor_Mal2d ago

Doesn’t Microsoft own the IP now since they acquired Activision?

DaReapa2d ago

No. Square Enix owns the IP.

Abnor_Mal2d ago

Oh okay, Activision owned True Crime, but when that didn’t sell as intended it was canceled. Six months later Square Enix bought the rights and changed the title to Sleeping Dogs.*

Sleeping Dogs was a sleeper hit back then. It was fantastic. It actually still is. Would love a sequel to this, or at least a revive of True Crime series.
