I'm pretty p1ssed off that they say they have a fix, but are waiting to release it with the other patches/DLC. This is a game BREAKING bug, not just an annoying glitch.

But, I'm still digging it.

I was having a huge problem whenever I tried to enter the Vegas strip. The screen would go black although I could still hear music and dialogue. It was doing this constantly and I didn't think I'd be able to finish the game.

I googled the problem and it turns out that a friggin' hat was the source of the problem. I was wearing a beret and I found out that if I wore a cowboy hat, I wouldn't have the problem.

I thought that there was NO way it could be that simple, but I got a cowboy hat, put that on my character, and no more problem... Now, that's ridiculous. LOL.

It's a great game, it's a shame it got completely slammed for bugs that some people experienced, yet other games *cough* COD *cough* manage to get away with it.

Really? They missed out. I mean, it really only had a few more issues than the already horribly buggy, crashy Fallout 3, but the story and the dialog options and so on were more reminiscent of the original Fallouts.

Not really, 4 year old hardware will outperform consoles. Its not like console hardware magically gains power every year.

Infact having a gaming PC is far cheaper in the long run then any console.

Note how even 4 yr old midrange gpus run fallout 3 around 50fps @ 1080p, Since Fallout NV is the same game 4yr old hardware will continue to outperform console. Dont know where you are getting the upgrading hardware part?

Fallout 3 on both the HD consoles ran at a mere 30fps, wasnt even 1080p not sure if it was even 720p, so there we go another example of 4year old hardware out performing consoles.

Enjoy paying 10-20usd extra on every game much.

Edit: Infact Steam and D2D will probably have this game at a huge discount in the winter holidays. Good luck getting those deals on console.

$100+ GPU running a 3 year old dual core CPU will play Fallout at 1080p above 30FPS solid using real AA.
This is something the consoles cannot do.
Also, the PC versison of Fallout is VASTLY superior to the Xbox360 and PS3 versions.
Better draw distance. Better Textures. Better AA. Better lighting. Better Frame rates. And to add icing on the cake. The game is $10-$20 less than the console version.
Why upgrade your PC when a 4 year old PC will run the game better than a console.
Drop $100 for a GPU and you get TRUE 1080P gaming.

It's not that at all. I think people are saying YOU don;t need to UPDATE your PC often as a lot of people on this site think you do.
Those days are done. A 4 year old PC can run most if not all games better than what these consoles can do. Thats the point

If you have a 4 year old PC which was created superior to console, then you dont need an upgrade to play games better then console. Yes there will be those PC titles that demand more HP. However console ports unless not severly butchered will always run better on the 4yr old machine.

You made it look by your post as if people constantly need to update their PC, which isnt true. To get experience better then console no updates are needed.

Your PC should play games better then the Ps3, Specially most games should run in 1080p. However do not use too much AA, since your GPU is an entry level GPU. Had you spent 50-100usd more and gotten a better GPU in the first place(would have needed a bit of research) your system would have easily run games at 1080p with very good AA.

Here is a link to some benchmarks for your GPU. Asides Crysis 1(which is not on the PS3) It plays all games in 1080p perfectly, between 40-60fps.

I love New Vegas.....the glitches really are detrimental to the gameplay though.

I had over 70 hours logged, tried to load my game one day, and it continually froze on the loading screen on every one of my saves.....I had to start over from the beginning.

Suffice to say, it was one of the few (if not only) times in my gaming history that I didn't mind having to start a game over from the beginning. My second time through, I was able to make my character a total badass....I maxed out his science, lockpick, repair, guns and medical stats. I also got a perk that allowed me to repair my weapons with other weapons.......

I just got an email from bethesda also, stating that there is a new update coming....hopefully they've finally fixed some of the more destructive glitches, especially before "Dead Money" comes out.

but this is different to modding to cheat.
the developer supports the creation of mods for these games, they actually gave you tools to modify the game.

people have done some amazing things with the mods.

i've seen mods for new armour, new weapons, new races, and even new cities in some of the elder scrolls games.

i can see why you might not like mods, but just remember these mods are a million miles away from the kind of cheating mods people use in the cod games, maybe not technically but their intent is a polar opposite.
