Ubisoft has revamped its Ubisoft+ subscription service, but Sony needs to get in on its Premium tier for PS5 as Xbox continues to boast better day-one access.
A standalone version of the Ubisoft Plus Classics subscription service is now available on the PlayStation Store.

Exactly. Ubisoft prices plummet soo fast and hit some incredible lows. I probably wouldn't own every Assassin's Creed game if it weren't for the dirt cheap sales they hit.

Exactly you can pickup most of their backlog for 5 bucks a pop with change I've seen some older titles go for as little as $1 like watch dogs

Lol. I don't understand how people still want an all digital future, those are the people ok with not owning "their" games. "Convenient " Just get up and switch the disc 🙄. My BG3 copy comes Q2 2024. I don't "own" Alan Wake 2, and have no plans to until its released as a physical copy. Smdh.

You seemed to be confused between the debate of owning physical versus owning digital games, and the debate of subscribing to versus owning a game. These are two separate issues.
I will say there is a misconception on the physical vs. digital debate which is that own a physical disc is just owning an install disc. You're still installing the actual game into your hard drive just like owning it digitally.
I totally would rather have physical discs but the problem nowadays is that a lot of games are not finished. Several have gamebreaking bugs that could stall your progress late in a game. So these games need a Day 1 patch or several patches to remedy the issues. I wouldn't care much to play vanilla Cyberpunk from a disc if I could no longer receive patches. The problem is with games being rushed out the door with "Gone Gold" status.
I have disability’s I have great internet. I like digital it is easier to do with my disabilities . Everyone is different. If you like physical disk that’s fine others like me like not changing disk. I have never been not able to redownload are stream any game I paid for
It's mostly lazy and dumb people I see supporting digital games. I could understand if the digital versions were at least discounted since they cost less to make but they aren't so there is no good reason to get the digital version when the physical is available.

Im not confused in the least though digital is digital, whether its subscription based or your buying your games from a digital store front. You dont own them. They undid it, but point in case is the removal of the Discovery Channel videos from customers. Its entirely possible for them to take your digital purchases. They'd have to physically come to my home and take my games. If the internet is ever tampered with I can play any of my games. A lot of hypotheticals but its possible.

Gamers are uniting alright, and filling up these corperate pockets. I tried to start a crusade when they introduced horse armor dlc that was only useful for making fancy screenshots but I digress. Now every game has a battlepass, its sickening.
Publishers need to start feeling comfortable with having their games pirated.

It’s what companies want so they get a steady stream of income. Screw that. Imma stop gaming if everything is streaming, digital, cloud. Playing my retro machines are perfectly fine for me.
Just look at the drop in quality from other subscription media. They push out content to fill quotas now. Not to make a memorable film or TV show. I worry this will be the future for gaming. Vote with your wallets.
$18/month is a big cost for people who can get most of the older catalogue for cheap as heck.

Ubi isn't good enough for me to ever consider a service from them. And know that their plan is "you'll own nothing " further hardens my stance.

Ubisoft knows it and that's probably why they include it in Game Pass and PS Premium.
No, it isn't included with PS+ or GP. EA play is included with GP only. UBI is a standalone subscription.

Ubisoft is a somewhat odd company to offer a subscription service since their games don't retain value. Typically, within a month or two, you can find them at significantly lower prices. Therefore, including new releases and DLC in the subscription is essentially their only method to justify the subscription cost and give it some semblance of value.
The time of year they usually release they can be had on black friday sales everywhere. For half the price.
They don't retain value because they are cookie cutter reskins of the same game mechanics over and over in every game.

Only includes streaming games, COD and Overwatch will be infuriating to play on any streaming service.
Can I ask why that is? I have had to rely on streaming for the past few weeks. Streaming TV a smart TV and to my phone using a backbone controller.
On Xbox remote play I played Warzone. Felt absolute fine to me.
On playstation I have been playing mw2 and the mw3 beta via remote play and again streaming was great. Backbone is no replacement for a dualsense controller. But the experience has been great.
