Got my invite link yesterday. Tried the link at 11am UK time (ways it goes live at 1pm) and I was able to order one. Went for the standard one without the horizon game. Simply because I'm not sure what type of game horizon is.

Neonridr564d ago

where did you order from? directly from Sony?

ocelot07564d ago

Yer I registered my interest and they sent me a link to buy one for today.

Neonridr564d ago (Edited 564d ago )

@ocelot07 - nice. Up here in Canada Amazon and Best Buy just dropped the preorder links. I snagged the Call of the Mountain bundle from Best Buy along with the charging station. Weird that Amazon only had the VR headset but not the bundle (at least currently).

ocelot07564d ago

Oh good that you got one. Think there sold out on the UK direct now. I had the chance to get the horizon bundle but I'm just not fully sold on it yet so just got the headset.

Neonridr564d ago

@Ocelot07 - yeah was pretty easy to snag one here in Canada as 3 different retailers all had their preorders go up. Amazon ended up putting the Horizon bundle up too, just a little later.

What I am surprised about is them charging basically a full priced game for Horizon. ($79.99 here in Canada)

ocelot07564d ago

Is that how much horizon is going to be at retail? $80? Oh lord maybe I made a mistake buying just the headset lol

I received the invite and would buy right now if they announced a new WipEout VR or another killer racing game
I do not like the launch titles except the rollercoaster horror game but I will not spend 600 just for a rollercoaster game
I can play my PSVR1 - so many cool games that you can't play on PSVR2 ? nuts that Sony didn't make it backwards compatible with PSVR1 Games.... they would look super sharp in 1080P or 4K ?

ocelot07564d ago

It's not that they don't want to make it backwards compatible. They are going from 10+ year old tech (move controllers + camera) to inside out tracking.

Only way they can make a game backwards compatible. Is it they go into each and every game and redo the code. This is why they have left it up to developers if they want to go back and do this. For example Hello Games and No Man's Sky. They are giving the free psvr2 version to anyone that owns the original.

CBaoth563d ago

firesprite is rumored to be working on a new installment for VR. Don't know if true but a lot of former Wipeout devs work there still.

fr0sty563d ago

If they update the hit games like re7, astrobot, wipeout, no man's sky, etc.... I'd consider it just to get to play all those great games with proper tracking.

ocelot07563d ago

I know No Man's Sky is getting a free upgrade. I know resident evil village is getting a vr mode. Since 7 is also a ps5 game now I'm sure they can add VR mode to it.

BLAKHOODe563d ago

I got the Horizon bundle and got the charging station, too. Quick 'n easy process. The verification charge/credit showed up on my credit card immediately.. I also pre-ordered TWD Saints & Sinners 1&2 bundle thinking it was a launch game, but then they changed the release date to March.

Got my preorder in. $600 after taxes... but it was worth it.

crazyCoconuts564d ago

Got mine in too. Still not 100% certain on this, but I'm going to take a gamble

Neonridr564d ago

I reserved one anyways. I have until February to decide if I want to keep it. At the end of the day it's only $50 more up here in Canada for this unit compared to the original with the Move Controllers and Camera.

1Victor564d ago (Edited 564d ago )

I got my from PSdirect for $707.67 the horizon bundle and a charger

BLAKHOODe563d ago

I bought the same. With taxes, it was $688.98.

MetroidFREAK21564d ago

I got an invite, but can't afford it 🤷‍♂️

potedude564d ago

I can afford it but my wife might divorce me...

TheGrimReaper564d ago

Mine is ordered and confirmed :)

Sorry but PSVR2 is dead and double dead at any sale price. It was dead before it launched as the "premium" VR scene lost all the AAA developers and now it is all indie mobile phone crap quality software.

State of Play | May 30, 2024

State of Play is back! Tune in live for updates on PS5 and PS VR2 titles, plus a look at PlayStation Studios games arriving later this year.

darthv722d ago (Edited 2d ago )

Im getting a bit of GotG vibes from Concord.

Ragnarok coming September 2024... that's just shy of 2 years since the PS5 release in November 2022.

-Foxtrot2d ago (Edited 2d ago )

I thought exactly the same. If they made it more like the GotG game and it wasn't online focused I'd have been sold instantly.

BISHOP-BRASIL2d ago (Edited 2d ago )

Yup, I was hyped up by the cinematic trailer and immediately put off the moment the gameplay trailer started, that was very high quality and great concept cinematic just for another Overwatch wannabe... Here's hoping they succeed so eventually someday they make an actual campaign focused entry for the franchise, but I'm not holding my breath and I'm definitely not falling for always online crap and FOMO just to follow drip fed cinematic "content".

EDIT: I'm still watching it as I comment... OMG they have another hero shooter, Marvel Rivals, seriously, they missed 2020 or something? For those not into online only and VR games, gotta say, poor show so far...

Profchaos2d ago

Gotg would of been a hit if it released before Avengers was my goty a few years back so I'm intrigued here

RaidenBlack2d ago (Edited 2d ago )

GotG is very underrated and had the unfortunate luck of releasing just after Avengers.
Its really good and more people should play it.

Lightning772d ago

Concord didn't do anything for me personally just another Overwatch mash up with other fps stuff. I mostly popped for Dynasty Warriors for next year. That was my biggest reveal I was genuinely excited for.

No Ghost 2. It's very clear Sony will wait later to Announce the Big Aaa's they don't wanna announce stuff too early and rather announce it closer to release.

darthv722d ago

Maybe its just me but Astrobot looked more R&C inspired than ever.

P_Bomb2d ago

Astro won the show. Looks epic! Huge bosses too like from the PSVR game.

shinoff21832d ago

Astro bot and silent hill 2 remake are what I'm liking out of this.

RaidenBlack2d ago (Edited 2d ago )

Most games appeared good.
Where Winds Meet and Monster Hunter seemed like those needed a bit more polish but that's ok as those aren't releasing anytime soon but I am still kinda worried regarding SH2Remake. Still looks rough and from rear view, James Sunderland looks nearly identical to Leon Kennedy's model from RE4Remake. Hope I am wrong though.
Other games were decent. Even Marvel Rivals.
Ballad of Antara was the highlight for me, followed by Infinity Nikki(purely on the art style alone).
And glad that, Path of Exile 2 is coming to PS5 and Ragnarok is coming to PC!
Behemoth for VR2 also looked really interesting.

PapaBop2d ago

You actually liked Infinity Nikki art style?

PSPSA1d 19h ago

Was my favorite looking game of the show, art style looks amazing

RaidenBlack1d 17h ago

Its not my type of game ...but the design and art style is really well thought out

Lightning772d ago (Edited 2d ago )

Marvel Rivals had a PC invite alpha test a few weeks back and they love the hell out it saying it's an Overwatch killer. I'm definitely down to play and play as my favorite.

STORM. ❄️💨🌊⚡

There's a closed beta in July on consoles but I doubt I'll be able to get in.

InUrFoxHole1d 21h ago

In overwatch 's defense didn't it kill itself?

Michiel19891d 17h ago

they also gave out beta keys where you had to sign an nda not to say anything negative about the game, otherwise you could not play. Don't support stuff like that :) surprised they even showed it here cause it looks terrible and it will fail faster than Artifact
