I still can’t believe Nintendo didn’t bother putting an Ethernet port on the dock so people have an option for standard improved online connectivity

Nintendo has never had an ethernet port on any of their consoles though. So this isn't anything new. I have an old USB to LAN adapter kicking around from my Wii days that will work just fine.

Still, I always prefer wired over wireless as well, so not having one from the start is definitely frustrating.

How is this not being anything new supposed to be an excuse or make the situation even better? That just makes it even worse. The fact Nintendo still has the nerve to advertise its Ethernet accessory in some of its ads is truly appalling

This "small trick" still involves more math than I'm willing to deal with.XD

No need i had 40 match with no lag or online issues, no lag from other players either, i have a very good router tho, never get signal issues
