The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Has Improved Massively with PlayStation VR | Push Square

Push Square: "Our early The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR impressions weren’t exactly enthusiastic. We tested the game in sub-optimal convention conditions with hellish teleportation enabled, and walked away from our demo like we’d just spent an afternoon in The Bannered Mare. The opportunity to test the final build of Bethesda’s snow-tipped fantasy setting with PlayStation VR is one that we simply couldn’t refuse, then – and fortunately we can confirm that it’s hugely improved."

I really hope they put a demo out for this. I need to know whether that movement will cause motion sickness. I am VERY VERY hopeful it will not as I would love a fully 3D Skyrim world to walk around in. Sounds very very cool.

I am also VERY excited about Fallout VR as well. Doom...not so much.

Imalwaysright2396d ago (Edited 2396d ago )

Even if they don't release a demo, you can always wait for consumer feedback.

I was fine throughout Resident Evil 7, but that was mostly smaller spaces. The demo made me feel awful, but the full game was fine.. 🤔

Skyrim latest footage looks SO much fun now it's full locomotion AND dual wielding. I can't wait for it to come!

IGiveHugs2NakedWomen2396d ago

Can't wait to play this while I'm on vacation next week. I'm hoping that Fallout 4 gets the PSVR treatment too.

"...and walked away from our demo like we’d just spent an afternoon in The Bannered Mare."

If all you needed to feel that (which i'm sure is pure bulls**t), was a tv strapped to your face.... well, you may want to go seek professional help really.

Dragonscale2396d ago

You need to read the article. They have subsequently played it again and say its hugely improved now.

Athos2396d ago

Ok, that was funny... a TV strapped to your face LOL.

G20WLY2396d ago

If it was that simple, we wouldn't have had to wait until 2016 to get decent VR

Dfooster2396d ago

VR is nothing like having a tv strapped to your face.

IGiveHugs2NakedWomen2396d ago

Pay no attention to people who make stupid comments like "TV strapped to your face." It only shows just how clueless they are when making comments like that.

generic-user-name2396d ago

Why do people who've never played VR think their opinions are worth sharing?

Dario_DC2396d ago

Because internet is full of morons, just let them be in their ignorance while we enjoy VR.

Profchaos2396d ago

VR can't be explained by someone who's never experienced it I love my psvr and can't wait for this.

Maybe this guy gets horrible motion sickness so he can't play and he wants other people to hate it like he does

Excellent, Skyrim VR will push more developers to launch AAA games on PSVR

TheVetOfGaming2396d ago

I hope so. I'd like to invest in PSVR, but only if it's going to be supported through playstation 5, too. Skyrim seems really cool.

yeahokwhatever2396d ago

I love PSVR as it is right now, and I hope there's a new headset for PS5. I'd like better tracking that doesn't get confused when your move controller is in front of the helmet. I can't tell you how many times that's ruined an otherwise great experience. In its current form, shooting bows while aiming is a mess. The hardware gets confused easily when the lights are passing over each other.

jznrpg2396d ago

I am guessing a new headset will release with or after PS5 .

Profchaos2396d ago

I believe the headset will work since it has the right inputs to be compatible after all it works on PC in the same way the occulus or Vive does

gangsta_red2396d ago

Because RE 7 definitely did.

Ricegum2396d ago

Gangsta red lurking in yet another Sony related article.

gangsta_red2396d ago

Not lurking, happily strolling through.

Liqu1d2396d ago

"Not lurking, happily trolling through."

FTFY.

gangsta_red2396d ago (Edited 2396d ago )

NORCEY.

IGiveHugs2NakedWomen2393d ago (Edited 2393d ago )

Ace Combat 7 - Bandai Namco
Justice League VR - Warner Bros
Fallout 4
DOOM

The AAA games are coming gangsta_red no matter how much you try to downplay PSVR

I'm Replaying Skyrim (again), and So Should You

Replaying Skyrim after 13 years is a reminder of the progress made in western RPGs over the last decade, but also what's been lost.

anast57d ago

I tried, but it's a poorly made game that insults its customers.

lucian22957d ago

nah, only mods make it decent, and even then it's bad, and this is after i modded for at least 3 years

Nittdarko57d ago

Funnily enough, I'm about to play it for the first time in VR with 1000 mods to make the game playable, as is the Bethesda way

Modder brings actual brain-powered magic to Skyrim VR

A modder has created a "real virtual magic" mod for Skyrim VR.

The mod uses a brain computer interface that measures your concentration.

The more you focus, the higher your magicka bar becomes. Fill it up and you'll do double damage; let it drop and you'll do less.

I wouldn't recommend anyone to spend more than 10 usd of their hard earned money on Fallout 4. I went into it think I was going to get a New Vegas style Fallout, instead I got a dull reskin of Skyrim.

I also picked up Skyrim and I'm enjoying it for what it is. I should have gotten Skyrim first and replayed New Vegas for my Fallout fix.

P.S. Rage 2 is poop, not worth the price tag.
