Just stick it to them by calling it something similar to Silent Hills like Silent Village, Silent Peak or Silent Forest. Not like they can do anything...well, they could try by lawyers but I'm pretty sure they'd be wasting their time as there is nothing to go on.

The Guillermo del Toro collaboration could've opened the door to other things, other great directors taking this industry as a serious art form. It would be cool to get the real story on why Konami canceled this project.

Having two big name stars behind it must have costed Konami more than they wanted and having Kojima at the healm probably would have sent the budget way over the top considering how his games are.

Konami despite the critical acclaim probably couldn't take that risk with those names attached.

last konami game i bought was Castlevania Lord of Shadows , I think castlevania is like Konami's last hope if they ever decide to go back to the franchise .. but they'd just screw it up .. they should totally remake Symphony of the Night with alittle souls style combat and it'd be golden

The problem is these types of games do not have anything to make gamers buy them.

Yes there is a quality game, but unless it has an online element, few gamers buy it at launch and the rest wait for either the used game market or the pirated versions on PC because you can get the exact same experience.

It really is a shame that gamers feel that the used game market and piracy is OK. Publishers will continue to try and release these types of games, but unfortunately they will be lower budget or they won't sell what they should and the genre might long term disappear.
