Doom 2600 Brings Classic First Person Shooter to Atari 2600 Console

Carl Williams writes, "Doom 2600 does something that is technically impossible. It brings id Software’s Doom to the classic gaming console. The Atari 2600 was obviously not designed to do 3D games so seeing something like Doom 2600 is impressive. 99% of the game is lost in translation, what is here is still spiritually “Doom”. That is the point of a demake."

Just when you thought a first person shooter couldn't look or play any worse than on a ZX Spectrum..

I want this just to collect it I have Halo for the 2600 this might not be worth anything but it would be neat to have.

You might as well just burn your money

Burning my money would be like paying 1 million for a sealed copied of Mario on NES this cart I doubt will be 1 million.

It really isn't... This looks like crap. Just because someone decided to make this flickery mess and slap the name "Doom" in it doesn't make it praiseworthy.

Quake Demake Is only 13 Kilobytes in Size

triverse writes, "When you think of demakes you probably think of newer games on older hardware. Probably because that is how they occur more often. Another type of demake is made for the same platform just a different graphics style (many remakes offer this option at the flick of a button). What if I told you someone made Quake, but it is only 13 kilobytes in size. For comparison that is about one quarter the size of the original Super Mario Bros on the Nintendo Entertainment System. The kicker is, this version of Quake looks amazing, and everything explodes into gibs everywhere."
