Starbreeze Tells Sony That OVERKILL's The Walking Dead is Cancelled

Sony has started e-mailing all players who pre-ordered the game on PlayStation 4 and has begun issuing refunds, because the publisher has told them that the game has been cancelled.

Crackdown 3 on the other hand, despite all the issues with its development is actually kinda fun. Yet people are sticking the boots in because it’s not the saving grace of Xbox exclusives, which it was never going to be.

Fun is a stretch, co-op is ok, multiplayer is horrible, saving grace or not, it was supposed to be so much more than what we got.

I'm not sure if it's a disappointment, those games were never high priduction, it's a crackdown game you either like it or not. I never picked up the first two, and only gave this one a chance cuz of game pass. Still haven't played the campaign though, I hear its decent.

Actually, what is even the issue, given that its a multiplaform that's on PC? Sony's just gotten the news first.

This game didn't really look interesting honestly. Also, the walking dead has definitely fallen from grace the past few years, it was my favorite show like 5 years ago and now I haven't watched the last few seasons. I have many friends who think the same way and moved on to other shows entirely. I think this game should have come out during the show at like season 3 and it would have been massively pre-ordered and it would have been a decent game at the time.. Maybe..

I agree seasons 6-8 were terrible tv but since Angela Kang took over as showrunner it's been really great tv!

This company spent close to 4 or 5 years on this one game. This game is really bad after playing the beta on steam before release. It is too slow paced and the basic combat is tedious and unrewarding. This bombed hard already. The company is also undergoing near bankruptcy and legal issues after this game came out. It plays nothing like Payday yet it tries to copy parts of it oddly, the bad parts of Payday.

Damn shame the company is dying, hopefully it doesn't affect any future Darkness games. I loved both Darkness games last gen, even the DE developed Darkness 2. Jackie Estacado is a vastly undervalued character and the franchise just oozes 90's, gothic, bad assery. I'd buy The Darkness Collection remastered in a heartbeat.

2K published the games and i'm assuming they are in charge of the IP in the gaming realm. I just want more The Darkness.

Top Cow publishes the comic, perhaps they make the gaming decisions? Either way, Starbreeze was specifically taken off the sequel in favor of Digital Extremes, Top Cow owns the IP, 2K publishes, so on second thought this shouldn't impact the viability of future games.

STARBREEZE was developing SYNDICATE when they announced DARKNESS 2 according to the wiki page . Would love see another SYNDICATE game, which i loved , but did not sell very good .

Crazy what OVERKILL and STARBREEZE have been going thru the last couple of years . Thank goodness most of the top developers left STARBREEZE and went to MACHINE GAMES to work on the WOLFENSTIEN games.
